Ted Koppel asked the question last night and I'm asking it today
Why not use the closed military bases?

Even if the barracks have been gutted (and I don't know they have) cots would fit in them. If the utilities have been turned off, how hard would it be to turn them on again?

3. Good question.
Anything would be better than nothing in an emergency.

6. By scattering those folks all over the place, it makes it less likely
that the federal government will be picking up any slack in helping them monetarily over the long run.
It's going to be very hard for someone that's been bussed over 12 hours from home to deal with an insurance company, etc.
