I have extended my condolences to some Republican friends who
buried their support for and loyalty to Bush* this week. Yeah, it would be really easy to tell them "We told you so," but instead, I mentioned how badly * let them down and how sad that is. I soft sell their stupidity back to them as having been deceived and I am simply more cynical and they have been too trusting.

Other message boards I am visiting have former * supporters trashing him to hell, saying the people should have fired shots at AF1.

1. That is THE way to play it
The temptation to rub their noses in it like bad dogs is there, but we are better than that.

You played it just right, congratulations on your wise restraint!

2. Maybe this really is the turning point
Maybe this is our Battle of Saratoga. I'm praying that it is.

4. Let us indeed welcome their votes with open arms
Keep after them, though. It's real easy for folks' memories to fade about how disgusted they're feeling right now, and when the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer cranks up again in 2006, some of the more forgetful ones will be tempted to dance again to the GOP siren song of lower taxes, smaller government, and a consequence-free society.

prop up the Chimperor again! After all this crap they are returning to Bush* like a battered wife!

6. I wish I could have a similar experience,
but it is not bloody likely.

Sorry for the vulgarity.
