Does Gray Davis Not Want to Win????
I get the impression he doesn't care...I mean he's running against a Hollywood celebrity and he pulls out his Hollywood Stars (Rob Reiner, etc) NOW?????

This whole time he has not been stumping, he hasn't run ANY ads (except for very few) and he didnt protest that he wasn't in the debates.

Now I would have understood this if it were the 2000 Gore, or Daschle, or Gephardt. But Davis??? This guy is a MASTER CAMPAIGNER! He beat Feinstein for crissake! He knows how to win, and he knows how to do a TV spot.

WTF IS HE THINKING????

2. Do you live in California?

If you don't, that might explain why you haven't seen any ads... :)

3. Just wait...
I belive he did complain about the debates, he had some time prior to the first debate and iirc made clear his views. He also had a lawsuit going at one time to get his name on the ballot, which would have allowed him to debate.

And this is the important week, I have seen his ad ALOT this week, and it's good. It calls Ahnold out for his misrepresenting numbers and facts. Plus he has been running the nice part of the campaign so far and Ahnold turned negative over last weekend(against a pledge to campaing positive I might add) and that bad move gives Davis the outs to take the gloves off!

Go Bengal Tiger Go!

4. This Whole Thing Has Been Bungled Institutionally
If nothing else this should be the straw that breaks Terry McAuliffe's career as DNC Chair. I blame him and a complete lack of backbone and a gameplan by the DNC.

The national party should have enforced strict discipline on one of two game plans from the get-go: Either NO ONE breaks ranks and they back Davis from the start 100% or they sell Davis down the creek and back Bustamante 100%.

Instead they have waffled, flip-flopped, and succeeded in making Arnold look like a good option to moderate voters.

What a freaking carnival.

7. Davis screwed things up from the beginning of the blackout in CA
What a milquetoast! I'm not a Davis fan - I just want the Dems to keep CA.

But Davis has never tried to fight back hard enough, IMO.

15. Davis was the first person to stand up to Bush and Cheney...
It's been proven that Enron and El Paso Energy manipulated prices, closed down plants to boost up energy prices, held secret meetings with Arnold to prevent Davis from doing anything. Energy Profiteers even sold natural gas that couldn't be delivered in time so that they could boost the price.

This was a mess inherited from Pete Wilson.

I suppose he waited for the 'Free Market deregulation" to work but it didn't. Don't be fooled by the Texas Energy Thiefs.

8. Of course I want to win and don't deserve to be recalled
I have been running ads for several weeks. Granted, I have not enjoyed the millions of dollars worth of free advertising that some have gotten and if I had raised millions more in order to compete with him ad for ad, I would have been accused of using my time when I should be governing to raise funds, so perhaps you could have a bit of sympathy for my catch 22.

I was further accused of running a very negative campaign since I opted to compete against Simon in place of Riordan. Again the contradictions are amazing since Arnold's ads accuse me of having 300,000 manufacturig jobs leave the state although I signed no legislation to export those jobs and the net job loss of California is no more than the rest of the nation.

I have been accused of pandering to special interests even though my administration has forcefully fought the energy lobby and the oil cronies in the White House.

I have been accused of being boring but I get laughed at for having kissed Cybil Shepard years ago while Arnold gets rewarded for unwanted assaults.

I have been accused of squandering a surplus while George Bush gets rewarded for squandering a surplus ten times larger with a debt 50 times larger (400 billion versus 8 billion)

I have been accused of aiding terrorists for allowing undocumented workers to have drivers licenses but since immigration is a duty of the federal government to enforce, I suppose I should just let people wander around the state without licenses insurance or identification - that will aid anti-terrorism experts.

Please don't blame me for the fact that the world has gone stark raving mad and the fact that a man who has played an action hero trumps all my accomplishments over the last three decades in the field of public service.

16. I am bothered by the following story in the LA Times.
http://www.latimes.com/la-me-arnold2oct02,1,4373187.story

Considering the voting questions that have been brought up on this board as well as in other places, why is this posturer so confident about this election? It reminds me of Bush organizing his cabinet while they were counting chads in Florida.

Edited on Thu Oct-02-03 07:29 PM by Oracle
No matter what the fucking republican owned corporate media is trying to shove down our throats...get EVERYONE you know to vote NO on the recall, and give rides to people who need one to vote, whatever it takes.

The recall won't pass!
