20. Not really too few volunteers. Volunteers were turned away in droves
by the Red Cross yesterday. Food, water and volunteers were turned away because the Red Cross thought they had it under control.

This is just another case where the Red Cross is screwing things up with red tape.

5. Who's getting funds for this Astro fiasco?
Someone's got to be making money on this...they don't give away a money making property for nothing.

9. Good point
and the sickness is hardly surprising.

A person doesnt have to be a doctor to know people are not meant to live in unspeakable unsanitary conditions for days on end with no food or water either.

This was inevitable.

18. They need everything. Where is the Red Cross?
When I called YESTERDAY MORNING about bringing donations down to the Astrrodome, they told me I needed to go through one of the big organizations and I wouldn't be allowed to take stuff on my own. Why aren't our donations being delivered YESTERDAY?

Sorry to yell, but I have to wonder who is in charge and who is keeping the charities away. Is this a set up so Operation Blessing can rake in more money?

19. People are being taken care of -- Houston has opened up more
shelters at the Reliant Center and the Brown Convention Center to take some of the pressure off the Astrodome. That's why they temporarily stopped accepting people at the Dome last night -- they didn't want to overwhelm the system and have the displaced people suffering shortages again.

Bill White, Houston's Dem mayor, said while some groups had already booked the Reliant Center (next to Reliant Stadium), that Houston was taking it over for housing and shelter and that if company's want to sue over it then he would see them in court.

It may take a day or two to get people comfortable, but everyone will be well taken care of.

Believe me, money is not an issue.
