Katrina awakening many conservatives. What will DU do?
Katrina has forced open the eyes of many conservatives who have, until, managed to remain blind to the problems of ths administration. They are realizing that, unless they are actual among the super rich in this nation, that this administration doesn't give a crap about them. That, in effect, their loyalty is not, has never been, and never will be returned.

They will, in very short order, be looking for new leadership.

What will the denizens of DU do? Will you:

1. Kick them while they are down. (That's what they'd do to us!)

2. Welcome them into the ranks. (And inform them on all that has happened while they were brainwashed.)

(I would have made this a poll, my first here on DU, except Level 3 traffic doesn't allow new polls to be created. :( )

1. We need to bring them in, of course. It is going to take a coalition

of a lot of people to get rid of the junta. The left tried to come together during the last election, but with DIEBOLD in the mix it wasn't enough.

We need a massive amount of pissed off people to take to the streets, to light up congressional switchboards and flood the mailboxes on the Hill, to get on call-in talk shows and say what they think of this admin.

So as much fun as kicking them while down would be, I would rather kick **.

2. For one, just because they realize this admin is incompetent doesn't mean
they are going to abandon conservatism.

and two, there are still many "dead-enders" still hanging on over there at freerepublic.com

4. And, shit, have you gone to Huffingtonpost.com?
They're in full lib-bashing mode over there, as usual.

3. As I posted earlier this morning...
WELCOME FREEPERS!

You are welcome here. Anyone who awakens to the disaster that is BushCo deserves a chance to cleanse their soul of the vile, oily scum which has washed over them. Live with us, learn with us.

And vote with us. Together we can make America respected once again.

5. kool-aide detox and recovery. And we need to drill the point home
that things in Iraq, though a different situation, are just as bad. Iraq is 5,000 miles away, and is easy to get swept under the sand. Everything these assholes touch turns to shit. EVERYTHING. Nothing is exempt.
