With apparent media blackouts starting, aid coming in with the chimp, "refugees" spread out everywhere, flood waters for weeks to come, does anybody think we will ever know the final human cost of this tragedy and the lack of response from the feds and the administration??? I think the offical number will be something comparable to 9/11, but in reality, I'll bet it ends up being 10 - 20 times that number, after it's all said and done, and people begin suffering from third world diseases and the likes...

1. They never can get accurate numbers -- I have seen numbers

from Galveston (1900) range from 6,000 - 12,000 dead. It will be impossible to know.

3. Count on it

I bet they will end up locking New Orleans down with Federal troops (to keep out looters, you know). No media, nobody but trusted BushCo minions. So when the finally drain all the water, nobody will be counting all the bodies they find on the bottom.

Wouldn't be surprised if they hire somebody like Blackwater to have their mercenaries guard the abandoned city until the bodies are all gone.
