The oil companies are holding back from local distributors to justify
the outrageous price hikes you are seeing. If we had any leadership in this country, the President would get on national TV and send a clear and convincing message to the oil companies and their conglomerates...as clear as the warning to "looters"...that they will have to pay heavy fines (or how about nationalizing the oil companies like Chavez?)and CEO will face jail time for unnecessary hoarding and gouging.

3. The Chamber of Commerce in Athens, GA sent out a gas scare e-mail on Wed
at 3:54 pm which encouraged members to go fill up all of their gas tanks pronto and said there would be huge shortages.

It was shameful. The chamber is a huge RED organization in our very BLUE town. I hate those bastards. I know that all of the local oil and fuel companies, gas stations and oothers are members of the chamber. They did mention that there would be plenty of diesel (for all the slash and burn and level historic buildings) for the contractors and developers trucks and equipment.

It was a great way for them to make lots of money. :grr:

6. I don't know who is doing what
but in my area of the State of Mississippi, near Memphis, there is very little gas -- and what there is, is about $3.59 plus.

Most stations are out, according to a local distributor, he expects to get some more Monday, but wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't have any.

8. Zero tolerance for looting?
If there's truly "zero tolerance" for looting, these Oil CEO's would be shot on sight.
