I thought the guy was going too far when he began picketing soldier's funerals and saying that it was payback because god hates gay people. But with this, he's SERIOUSLY crossed the line.

1. What is so ironic

Is that I heard on the Sirius Out Q (the gay radio station) that most of the gay area is above sea level and didn't experience as much damage as other parts of the city. . .so GOD didn't send a hurricane/flood to wipe out the gays after all!

3. Basically true, at least for gay men

the ones Phelps seems to hate (or envy) the most. The big gay men's areas are the lower French Quarter and adjacent Faubourg Marigny and Bywater. I did hear Bywater took some flooding, but the others looked reasonably OK in that huge satellite photo.

Lesbian women, on the other hand, most often setlle in Mid-City, out Canal St. a couple of miles from the Quarter, and definitely hit by the 17th St. levee breach :(

Edit: Phelps qualifies as a weapon of mass destruction. We should dispose of him accordingly.
