To those who refuse to consider the possibility that the * administration has been 'slow to begin rescue efforts' for Katrina victims
on purpose, I suggest that you consider historical precedent:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Tuskegee Timeline
<
http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/od/tuskegee/time.htm>We *know* treatment was withheld on purpose - we know that human beings can be so unfeeling as to be capable of withholding live-saving help.
What would the administration's reason for being 'slow to begin rescue efforts' - I don't know - but there are a number of reasonable possibilities: So aid could arrive when * did? Making martial law seem acceptable? Economic cleansing? Ethnic cleansing?
Only time will tell whether a sufficient number of stories support LIHOP or whether instances in which help was turned back was because of incompetence or ego-driven turf battles over who is in charge of which efforts. At this point we have evidence that supports all of these possibilities. Only time will provide perspective.
To those who want to put a lid on discussions that * has delayed rescue efforts because it might make 'us' seem crazy -- I disagree you vehemently.
