1. and that proves what?
seriously, isn't that nothing more than a fairly standard bureaucratic request?

4. Why did Bush wait? So things would be "JUST SO".
Couldn't be clearer. The mayor asked for help and was ignored. Bush sat while the situation turned into something he could "bond over" with his base. ***holes and sociopaths typically cannot accept their own lives (responsibility) so they go to great lengths to find scapegoats they can bond over with the people who enable them. Then they can sit and reflect back to each other..their greatness, their purity, their majesty, their can-do attitude, their goodness, while the scapegoats take the fall for all that is bad in their own souls.

These people in NO are poor and did nothing to either Bush or his supporters. Many likely didn't even vote. But because they are difficult to understand..if you are a twit with issues of lack of empathy..they make for a great, pursed lipped,

MIRROR OFF

between bush and his Patsy supporters.

Why would Bush forgo this opportunity to reinforce great ties with his base? And solve the issue on Monday, or even Tuesday? Bush & his supporters have so much anger at the world - for not being "exactly so" and taxes not being "exactly as they would want" - they have anger at the world because they are adolescent and don't gain wisdom and the peace that comes with living better & more "right kind of Christian" - as Al Sharpton put it - lives. The attack and those attacks come back to haunt their souls. It builds and builds. Any adult would know how to make life balanced..you just think of others with empathy & affection and connect to your greater community and happiness comes back like an ocean. These adolescents who reflect Bush have been taught not to do that. So they are angry and mean & frustrated..just like Bush. So they need an out. And it has been building for a while - as reality was catching up to them.

Why is it fair that the people of Louisiana are the only ones to have water wash in and ebb away all the bad stuff? Bush & his base needed a storm surge to wipe their asses clean..not being capable of doing it for themselves...they let the "other" suffer and fall apart .. & their anger and self-hatred..flows down to NO via the T.V. And Bush and his followers stare at each other and nod - free of the hatred that has found an outlet. Free to stare at each other and smirk and wink and bask in each others' complete white light.

And the cycle will begin again. Only it will be bigger and bigger. That hit - that crack - being pleased at the diminished lives of those who take the blame.

So once again they project their "faulty sublimated testosterone (transformed in MBA school)" on black men. And they project their addiction to hate on the "others" who have high addiction rates to drugs. The stats on violence in New Orleans and drug issues will make it fit - and things will be "just so" again.

Till the next fix of "just so".

6. Very interesting analysis
Could be the underlying psychological explanation for a completely incomprehensible lack of response on the part of Junior.

7. I've seen it before. Very scary how that personality type works to create
a relationship between them & their supporters using attack on a third party.

10. apparently you didn't read the part after the colon.
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 01:21 AM by aikoaiko
After ""To support evacuation/sheltering effort, I am also requesting: " she asks for money. In case you don;t know what those programs are or do, see the following: http://www.fema.gov/rrr/inassist.shtm

After the part on saving lives and property she requests aid debris removal in sub headings A and B. Nothing about personel or troops to get people out before Katrina hit.

12. then read the two subheadings below to find out what she meant by that.

She was asking for funds for debris cleanup.

"I request direct Federal assistance for work and services to save lives"
(a) We do anticipate State and local government resources to accomplish the volume or debris removal anticipated for this disaster.
(b) We are requesting a direct removal mission assignment for Hurrican Katrina.

And yes, this SHOULD have been done and Bush should be held accountable for it, but her request did nothing help get people out of harms way.

14. Bus people out.

She had the command of LEO and buses statewide to move people inland and didn't. Instead, the Governor and Mayor told people to wait it out at the convention center and superdome before they left for higher ground.

And then, after NO and LA infrastructure was broken, the federal level EMA failed and is failing. That part is on Bush and his appointees.

16. I'm not blaming Blanco for Bush's FEMA's poor response

I blame Blanco for not using statewide resources (LEO and buses) to get the poor out of the city before Katrina hit.

and actually, the Fed does need an invitation to come into the states.
