What lesson do you suppose terrorists will take from the Katrina aftermath
Are they going to see how pathetically ineffectual our "Homeland Security" apparat is, while our military is waging a losing occupation on the other side of the planet?

1. I've been wondering the same thing
It'll be interesting to see how the pundits and hacks play this out. A little flooding here. A little bombing there. In blue states, of course, since it's obvious this government doesn't give a good goddamn about anyone but republicans, ideally rich white ones.

2. I hope they decide it's not worth it to attack us-considering
a natural disaster can do it bigger and better than the terrorists ever could.

7. I was thinking that myself....
we sure look like a bunch of sitting ducks and that the gov't really doesn't give a shit about the poor folk.....don't know if that cpuld make less affluent areas safer and the affluent more at risk.

Sure likes like a class war could happen REAL easy...who needs terrorists anyway? *'s doing a good job screwing things up without them....

8. I can tell you what I think
This has shown them that we may be mighty over seas but when it comes to C.Y.OOUROWN.A.'s, we are pathetically weak becauase of the dipshit that runs the country.

9. More importantly, what are we learning?
We've spent $300BB fighting shadowy boogeymen in the ME. Tell me if we had invested $300BB in our own national security (which btw, ripples through our economy) that would focus on natural disasters...we wouldn't be better off.

Homeland Security is a joke....it got exposed this week. Better levies would have saved $100 BILLION DOLLARS.....just how could a terrorist event come close to this?

so the terrorists won't feel the need to blow us up
all they have to do is wait for our own damn government
to let us starve and dehydrate.

I doubt that is the lesson the terrorists are getting
but I hope it is .

21. The terrorists don't have to do anything
just set back and let Mother Nature have at it and then our own govenment will just let us all die. Makes it real easy for the terrorists we just emplode on our own with no effort on their part.

22. Two VERY BIG things:
1) We're completely unprepared to deal with this scale of destruction.

2) They don't have to worry about the rest of the planet because the U.S. is in this alone. Hell, we won't even accept some help from our allies after a huge natural disaster.
