3. Geraldo just told O'Rielly to get busses down here!
said to forget the governor and that he (O'Reilly) could do it if he wanted to. O'Rielly got agitated and defensive.

Now showing a man holding a baby that belongs to a woman who passed out. Once that was said, O'Reilly cut them off.

I'm ripped to pieces just seeing the images on tv. I don't see how anyone could be in NO and NOT become frantic and outraged. I just see flat images, I don't know the smell, I can't feel the stress, I have never watched a person die. I can't imagine.

I wish we could send that cretin Bill O'Reilly down to the NO Convention Center to do his show live. Now that is something I would definitely tune into FOX to see.

18. Talking point response:
The lack of response is not a Louisiana-specific phenomenon. Look at Mississippi.. they're seeing a lack of response as well, which tells us that it's federal.

My partner's family is from the MS coast.. I'm from New Orleans. We're both noticing that it's non-govt groups that are doing the heavy lifting, and that FEMA is scarce.

Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:35 PM by Pirate Smile
"O'Reilly had on a Colonel who explained that everything is the fault of the Governor. All of it. The National Guard and Fed troops weren't there because of her.

Geraldo is even saying "you do it, Bill, bypass the Governor, you take care of it, Bill." He is talking about getting the buses to evacuate the people out of the Superdome. Because, of course, we just learned that everything is the Governor's fault.

Bill is taking care of things. Everyone should just relax now.

21. So are DUers....Falafel boy isn't surprising, but the other is
I personally heard her, in a press conference, the same one in which she demanded an apology from Hastert, where she said, I am thru asking, I am demanding 40,000 troops here immediately. So, she had been asking...but, they don't understand asking, they only understand demanding. And, when FEMA claimed that things had been pre-positioned (in advance), where were those things, and who was repositioning them...no troops involved in pre-positioning?

All you have to do is watch CNN and MSNBC to see who is to blame here. I hope certain DUers are watching.

32. Actually...
That letter seems to be requesting money to pay for work and services the state will provide. Which, if I'm not mistaken, Bush approved shortly after that.

I'm sure she asked for people at somepoint, but I don't see it in that particular letter.

There were mistakes made at every level... I don't think anyone REALLY understood the enormity of what was happening.

36. I agree...
They should have seen this coming whether LA, MS, AL (possibly TX and FL if it veered) asked for help or not. With all the money that's been poured into Homeland Security in the last few years, the reaction time is inexcusable.

But the question was when did LA specifically request troops (not monetary assistance). I don't think this letter answers that.

Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 07:47 PM by Pirate Smile
everyone is listening to him and watching his show, so if he says "go here" someone??? will do his bidding because they are watching "The Factor".

The bridge that Shepard Smith begged for help from days ago, O'Reilly is going to get those people help.

:wow:

Oh, now he is going to go solve Aruba's crimes.

It is so close to comedy but he doesn't realize it. Stephanie Miller is going to have a field day on Monday.
