Seriously- what was up with Rachel Maddow this morning?

I generally like Rachel Maddow alot. She has a way of building a sound argument without overstatements that I appreciate.

But this morning while she was subbing for Al Franken, she had some blatant Bush shill on, who blames ONLY Dems for the catastrophe in New Orleans- ONLY local government. The Democratic senator was to blame. The Democratic mayor was to blame- and he was 'undignified', or something to that effect.

And Maddow just agreed and agreed, nodded assent and then thanked the shill for sharing.

What the hell happened there?

Randi's attacks on her were uncalled for.

She was pushing a book. Afterward, Randi Rhodes was really mad and said that the producer brought the woman on and that she was livid because she was saying that the black people were armed and playing up the looting issue as well. Randi apologized that AAR would have someone like that on. I also heard her on NPR, but I've come to expect that from them, they are as bad as any Corporate Media.

8. She didn't agree, she shut him off, answered him logically, let him

back on to answer her and then went on with the show, letting his crap speak for itself. I know we are used to Randi wrapping their balls in tin foil and then putting them on the barby but Rachel had a different way of dealing with him.

Okay reading the other posts it was a her. I really thought it was a he.

The call YOU heard was from a generic RW asshole little, little man. She just turned him down, since once he got his little talking point out he tried to do the RW fillibuster shuffle, then she countered him perfectly and turned him back up. When he persisted in being a dick, she just cut him off and basically said "I don't have time for this". It was nice.

This other thing was earlier, and I only heard bits, so I was confused as to why this person was on the air.

I said I was possibly wrong. You are right I heard the generic RW prick and confused it with the other segment that I obviously didn't hear. I thought this is what was being talked about. :shrug:

11. Her first segment was brilliant, showing the Bush time line

against the mounting problems in New Orleans. The guest segment did suck, she didn't counter aggressively enough. But I think she is the most intelligent voice on AAR, perhaps seen by Randi as a threat. I heard Randi go off on her and didn't think that was appropriate either.

Randi has her brilliant and piss poor moments too. We all have bad days.

Rather than fight among ourselves we are better served by fighting the idiots in power.
