36. Exactly
Better yet why didn't they find their souls four years ago. Look, I can respect the fact that these people have seen some terrible shit but ,the point of the matter is, it took people dying for them to realize it. It took rats eating people and dead babies before they actually saw the light. I hope they take a closer look at this situation. I hope they realize that it's not just this particular blunder that caused the senseless deaths of thousands of people. What caused people to die needlessly was the Republican political agenda point blank.

This is the new Republican party (neo-con) and if Shepard Smith CNN, MSNBC and the rest of them cannot stomach seeing folks dying then they better jump ship and stay off. This is the way the world is with Bush in office. Oh sure they got their nice little tax cuts and their shock and awe nasty, fucking war but at what cost? All they have to do is take a look at what once was NO . The new Republican party have no use for the likes of Shepard Smith and others who actually show a shred of human compassion. Those type of people hold the New Republican party down.

I'm sure some of those reporters are sad and all but I wonder how much of that sorrow is actually guilt. They should feel guilty for sitting on stories, cheer leading for Bush, bias reporting etc. I wonder how many of them go home at night, look in the mirror and cry because the guilt is so heavy on them. They knew during the first Bush term what they were supporting. The fucking idiot started a war with an unarmed, country that had nothing to do with 9/11. The MSM had that information but continue to blow it off, nothing has changed. They wanted the war, the killing, the sorrow, the pain, they wanted and supported all of that. I wonder if any of them are scared shit-less for our country or maybe they are just scares shit-less for themselves. Scared because god forbid if a terrorist attack or mother nature knocks their neighborhood off the map. I say fuck them, all of them. Unless they take the lesson they learned from the horror of NO to heart then they are useless. Unless they learn they allowed this nasty fucking administration to stab this country in the back then THEY continue to be part of the problem. They must realize this and never forget it. If they allow this tragedy to slowly evaporate from their mental Rolodex then they are my enemy.

I know if feels good to see them actually take a stand but don't hold your breath people. Unless they grow a spine nothing is going to change. Don't get me wrong I pray and hope they change but take a look around people. This is not a free country. Anytime breaking news is the media acutally reporting the news we are in trouble. The media has ate at the hands of corporations for so long they don't even know who they are. I hope they remember and I hope they stand up for this country from here on out. Excuse the grammar errors I've had a few tonight. Peace to my DU family.

21. ....
You 'da' thought so, but she was doing her 'go off on something rant' and it turned out to be why the federal government is still not seeing the severity of the situation?' Ranting about another night in the convention center for those poor people, tomorrow will be to late .... I was just scanning by that station and caught it..... just turned back ...... she's still covering it. Guess Bush's visit didn't do his stature a bit of good today. Compassionate Conservatism my ass. Peace.

10. You know what this is?
Guys like Scarborough are putting on their indignant face because the images coming out of New Orleans are a blatant example of racism and classism. There's no way to spin it. It's obvious to anyone looking at it.

So they'll act all outraged for awhile. But don't worry- next time another CAFTA bill comes up, or someone points out the suppression of black votes, they'll chuckle and change the subject as usual.

15. I totally agree but:
Right now I'll take it if the phony indignation of cretins like Scarborough gets some lives saved. When their mouthpieces start turning on them it's gotta motivate them to at least do something resembling compassion.

17. Na, it is guilt for realizing how much they stroked this
administration for so many years. They are suddenly realizing the truth about Iraq and very scared by what their former "Idol" has done. They suddenly realize there isn't anything compassionate about a conservative.

We are the richest nation that ever existed and we can not find a way to get help to these people. There have been nothing but excuses from the government. He said if an NBC correspondent can reach the convention center in an SUV, why can't the relief workers?

33. and what would authorities do IF they got there?--they had no supplies
they had no transportation. they had no place to take them--even today there is no place to take them.
Having said that--some authority should have gone in and talked to them--tell them they are trying. Anything anything would have been better that totally ignoring them as happened.

I don't get MSNBC, but I remember a scumbag with that same name in Congress. I wonder if he would care to 'fess up about how he voted on any tax issues or proposals that would help less fortunate people? I wonder where outrage might have been then?
