American Red Cross Hurricane Relief

Victims of Hurricane Katrina are attempting to recover from the massive storm that hit the Gulf States. American Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to the hardest-hit areas of Katrina's destruction, supplying hundreds of thousands of victims left homeless with critical necessities. By making a financial gift to Hurricane 2005 Relief, the Red Cross can provide shelter, food, counseling, and other assistance to those in need. 1. great link and very easy!
I contributed via this link to the Red Cross. They had the same thing going for the tsunami. I think that got up to over $12,000,000 if I remember right.

We CAN do better than that! This is for our homeland and our country and anyone can contribute from anywhere! :D

Thank you for posting this.

:kick:

2. Many people (like me) will use Amazon but NOT PayPal. Please keep kicked!

My parallel post on this is at the bottom of a very long list on the Hurricane Relief thread, and more people would see it if it got to the Greatest Page, I think.

In any case, GD is rushing and threads sink out of sight so quickly!

And yes, I think the number of contributions through the Amazon Honor System account will continue to grow - there is so much need.

BTW, tomorrow I will be going out to the local yard sales on the hunt for good adult and child clothing and mailable essentials. There will be plenty of addresses to mail them to soon. We need to set up a system for specific sizes needed being matched to people who have them and can mail them to a specific address.

3. Thank you
for posting this. I mentioned on another thread that the Irish Echo will have more on where to donate next week. The AOH national leadership is meeting this weekend. But the editors of the Echo are encouraging people to donate to the Red Cross now, for immediate emergency assistance.

6. Fantastic. When I first put that post together it was under 4 million
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 10:40 PM by Nothing Without Hope
There was a delay while I tested and determined witih MrsGrumpy's and CC's help that the donation page URL worked universally, and then I posted.

Now we're over half a million up from there. It is indeed moving up fast.

Thanks for your help in keeping this kicked. :hi:
