Ten Percenters Check In thread, WE ARE VINDICATED!!!!
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 09:27 PM by Walt Starr
Proud members of the Ten Percenter Club, I have called you here today to celebrate the fact that we have been vindicated.

Back when we were the only ones who disapproved of the job * was doing, we knew what this nation faced with such a moron who appointed such evil men to positions of power. We knew the rock bottom we as a nation were going to face.

Remember, fellow Ten Percenters We knew when we were derided as "Un Amurkan" and "unpatriotic". We knew when the rest of the nation wandered about in a fear induced haze of terror and uncertainty. We knew when the ninety percenters parrotted false talking points based upon lies.

We had courage when the ninety percenters knew true fear.

My fellow old time DUers and Ten Percenters, I give you THE BEGINNING OF THE END!

27. Same here. Retrospectively, that historic moment (major mistake on the
part of a supposedly non-biased judicial body) will be looked upon with horror and distaste...and if we can keep our democracy intact after this administration has come so near to ruining it, hopefully it will never happen again.

Not supporting Bush is, without doubt, one of the smartest things I've ever done.

86. Despised him before that (during campaign - SC/McCain)
but 12-12-2000 (aka 9/11 for principled attorneys) really made me lose any last vestige of faith in "democratic institutions" and it was obviously engineered by the BFEE.

What's the percentage of us that hated the mofo on sight and instinctively recognized his inherent evil?

With what he's done to my beloved country since then :sigh: I don't know if there's a word strong enough for how I feel about him now...

Richards, although I really didn't know about the dirty campaign politics until 2003, when I read everything I could about KKKRove. These people are evil. Cheney, in particular, makes me ILL. They all do. That's instinct.

since this asshole was running for president.

Yes, we are vindicated!!

And the sad part is, we've been vindicated on an almost monthly basis since that useless bag of shit staged his illegal coup, but neither the media nor the democrats in the house have noticed.

It's good that, finally, dems are noticing. Though it seems that the repukes are actually noticing more - ala the meltdowns on FOX and CNN and etc.

right up until I saw the destruction in NY on 9/11. Then I knew we were in great trouble. when I heard him say he saw the first plane hit, "bad pilot, ha, ha," I knew.
Most of my family think I'm a fanatic. Oh well, as I tell them, "Someone has to witness and care."

I hated him when he mocked Karla Tucker. And Poppy before him. The Bushes and Raygun taught me that I could actually hate.

129. Yes--"someone has to witness and care..."
I too have been considered a radical extremist by conservative relatives (which I find laughable) while at the same time was cautioned NOT to be politically active by more liberal friends. I chalked it up to liberal friends being overwhelmed and resistant to seeing how bad things really are. Esp when people have kids, it seems hard for them to believe that our country is a total mess. It's also hard to divert energy from the serious business of jobs and family to tracking the complex activity of the federal government. Many among us chose to simply trust. That trust has been severely abused.

During the first term of The Chimperor there was one well-meaning friend who advised me to look within and focus on the microcosm during the current administration. "Concentrate only on what you can control" she said. Basically she was advising me NOT to see, not to pay attention, because things were so bad. I found that impossible to do, choosing to be a witness... to care regardless of the consequences. I knew I couldn't accept the passive "wake me when it's over" message because in my head it was already a vigil, a death watch for the country and everything I care about. Either large numbers of people would wake up, or we would go further down a very treacherous road. We're on that road now, but more are seeing the truth of what we have been saying. So there is hope. Unfortunately the way back will be uphill. But the levee has been breached now and the awful truth is visible. The government hijackers have gone too far in their greed and lust for power. They are finally exposed for what they are.

At this point I am realizing how important 10% can be.

144. This government has heinously abused
we the people for years, but the worst since 9/11.
freakin bullies and sadists one and all.

How could we ever go back to before we knew?! I get so tired of hearing that we shouldn't worry so much about what has been happening. They say we can't change it anyway. I would much rather see what's coming even if there was nothing I could do, just to know the truth. And if we have clarity we may be able to take action and change what some claim is inevitable.

I hope you are right, MG, that the levee behind these corrupt monsters at least has an un-pluggable leak, if not a complete breach!

56. Friend of mine,
when he defeated Ann Richards, I knew we for in for it. I could not believe it, I still can't. I guess I'll have to. It was all coming down the pike, way back in the early 80's, or before then when people were trying to sober him up and make him be a Christian and stay married to that useful woman and for goodness sakes have a baby or two so that you will look respectable. The man has been a little man and a failure all of his life. He was groomed, he was backed up and shored up by money, but not any of his own. None of his own effort, none of his own loss...

And now we bear his successes.

My Momma told me true.

I was against Bush before, on, and after 911. I remember after 9-11, all my favorite Bush-hating websites took a break or shut down. SNL and late night comics couldn't say anything against W. Even DU pussed out, stopped publishing Conservative Idiots...

Synchronicity - I just told a bunch of people tonight that I was a 10 percenter ... that I hated shrub on 9/12/01 as much as I do now (I was at a wedding reception.) The difference, unlike Oct. 2001, is that all the non-politicos at the table agreed with me, even the proclaimed GOP'ers and those that claimed they "don't vote." I am so infuriated I am just sick, and my passion is finally understandable, even to the ostriches.

I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt immediately following 9/11 and for sometime after that. I wasn't happy he was in power on 9/11, but I decided he was president and that maybe he could do a good job in finding those responsible. Boy was I proven wrong!

Though by the time the PATRIOT Act was trotted out, and Ashcroft gave his spiel at a hearing about "those that speak of phantoms of lost liberty aid the terrorists", I pretty much gave up on them. Actually it was even before that, when I saw how postal service employees were treated after the anthrax outbreak (compared to the congresspeople). I will admit for a small time I actually lurked on FR even though I didn't agree at all with most of their politics. At that time I didn't know of DU or any other liberal forum where I could actually participate.

...that even some of the most ardent Bush 'haters' at the time said they were behind the 'president' and country during a time of national emergency. And then George immediately began acting like a pompous butt and used 9/11 for political advantage.

But some of us were NEVER behind him in any way. We had studied his record way before the election and knew he was a lying, arrogant bastard. We knew that he had gone AWOL from the air guard and left others to serve and die in Vietnam. We knew he had committed 'insider trading' crimes and that one of his first oil ventures was backed by BIN LADEN'S brother in law.

If you really want to get to know the real George Bush...watch the 'wedding video' that's floating around the internet.

America should have learned one giant lesson after 2000: why it's SO important that our system of elections works to put the people's choice...not that of the ruling class...in office.

I can thank my sister for opening my eyes a little. It was after Falwell and Robertson said we were attacked because of the moral decay (drugs, sex, rock-n-roll, what have you).

The pieces are still hard to put together, but there is no way that the interceptors stood down and security was that lax for all that to happen on cue. I saw Poppy set up the October Surprise before my first chance to vote in 80 and he has been eluding law enforcement all his life.

131. I didn't like the old man either
I hope people who are waking up now don't fall back to sleep. I'm a ten percenter!! My sister backed the fool after 911 (but did not vote for him and worked phones for the Kerry campaign), but has turned on him now. She always disagreed with me saying she did not think * was evil. As of yesterday she agrees.

132. I felt so alone in the beginning.
My friends and coworkers, neighbors, and others would give me that WTF look when ever I called BushCo. a bunch of treasonous thieving thugs. They thought I was disrespectful when I referred to shrub as a little turd.

The whore media said he had 100% approval at one time or another after 911!

That's when I found DU - after he stole the first election.

We warned Americans everywhere.

But we've been right all along.

back in the day.
