What the hell is going on?
I'm trying to wrap my brain around all that has happened today. The cappers for the day were Geraldo and Shepard Smith breaking down and showing their humanity on Fox news. It was powerful stuff, Crooks and Liars has the clip if you haven't seen it, and the Red Cross admitting they are being kept out of NO. During the Fox broadcast Geraldo and Shepard were literally yelling that the people weren't being allowed to leave. The Red Cross is not allowed in and the people aren't allowed out. Just what in the fuck is going on here? Is this some kind of sick Nazi experiment?

2. It seems as much as we've yelled, screamed and even thrown
things at the TV to try and wake up the press, I do believe it will be the press that FINALLY brings Bushco down because they are there seeing everything and I really don't think they will all keep quiet about what's really going on.

3. Is there a reason given?
The people aren't allowed to leave (and I don't understand that at all), and the Red Cross isn't allowed in. WHY?????

Has anyone given a reason, as convoluted as it would have to be?

Yes, there is a reason for it
are you sitting down? The reason FEMA gave them is they don't want aid going in because it will make the people want to stay where they are. In the meantime Fox News reports that they won't let anyone out of the city. This is what I'm trying to wrap my brain around. Read the Red Cross thread. This whole thing is creeping me out..

13. It's a damned good thing I was sitting down.
I cannot believe what you just told me. I am speechless.

The reason FEMA gave them is they don't want aid going in because it will make the people want to stay where they are.

And what about the people trapped in the attics and on the rooftops? Do they also want to stay where they are?

I'm going to look for the Red Cross thread.

6. It was very Naziesque.
The ovens, (the superdome and the convention center), the starving of people by holding back on supplies, the martial law...

This was not merely a "mistake."

17. THANK YOU for saying that
How else can you tell the truth except by just telling it? And don't blame me or you if it doesn't sound nice to you.

Withholding food while keeping them all caged in, while promising them all it's gonna get here real soon, has Nazi written all over it.

They (the gov't) brought crazy drugged up thugs from the outside and armed them, to start creating death and havok and give them an excuse to bring in military forces to finish as much of the job as possible.

This is a standard trick, they use it in Iraq to create fake insurgents in order to justify staying there for as long as they make a profit from it.

Who ever heard of such a ridiculous thing as starving citizens sniping rifle shots at doctors and helicopters who came in to rescue them? Well these are the outsiders I mentioned above. It's just another excuse to justify bringing in deadly force to attack defenseless starving people.

They put it all together by starting the flood themselves, by breaking the levee. The storm didn't cause the flood.

No goddammed levee breaks in less than one day.

Don't be afraid to call it what it really is, genocide. Genocide for it's own sake, and genocide to generate the terror needed to consolidate their power.

7. Reminds me of Fallujah-remember how Red Crescent tried to
get in to help all the people (including a whole bunch of people who traveled there with food, medicine, etc) and they were denied entry. What are we, IRAQ??????????

Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 01:17 AM by walldude
you are right. I had a thread pulled yesterday because I posted that it looked like the administration was withholding aid to these people on purpose. I even preceded it by saying it was a tin foil hat theory. Today it came true. Not so TFH anymore. Hell it looks worse than what I imagined in my conspiracy laden brain.

oh and Welcome to DU :toast:

21. BushCo didn't cause the hurricane, but they saw in it an opportunity . . .
to essentially eliminate one of the country's most vibtant (albeit poorest) urban African-American communities . . . so they decided to go for it . . . simply through intentional neglect . . .

once they fully engage, however, this will also give them an opportunity to test out how to best impose and manage martial law . . .

New Orleans will be their laboratory for some serious social re-engineering . ..

This is the beginning of the end. The Bush Crime Syndicate has destroyed this country. Either Bush goes, or we are doomed.
