If we can equip, house, and feed an army in a foreign country , why
cannot similar logistics be used to relieve the people of New Orleans?
Tents...latrines...military transport...medical staff...meals....
It's a big project, but it's NOT FUCKING ROCKET SCIENCE. Where is the will to get this done, and get it done fast!?

1. That is an excellent question - one of the most frustrating, IMHO
If this had happened in another country, the US Army and other organizations would have been on the ground with tents and food since at the worst Wednesday (probably even before).

3. You mean like in DARFUR?

2. We haven't done a good job on the equipment and there were
lots of stores of US soldiers dying from dehydration and eating rotten food. Oh, guess who's in charge of feeding the troops since 2001? Halliburton!

4. and also, this is the US -- which used to have a great track record
... not just with military organization, but assisting in Europe and Japan after the war, and countless disasters around the world -- places which were farther away, more extensive, and even more seriously damaged.
