when were those in "attics" last mentioned anywhere?
This is now Day 6: I've heard precious little about those trapped in attics since Day 3. Not even so much as an acknowledgement that they didn't get rescued and that they are likely dead. I don't want them forgotten as they are the easiest people not to count when they try to cover up the number of dead.

I've mentioned my friend doing search and rescue---btw, he was "thrown out" last night by FEMA as "unauthorized" whatever the hell that was supposed to mean---he believed over 10,000 given the numbers he had seen in the areas he worked and what he heard from areas with worse damage and more people left behind. His belief was that they don't want "witnesses" at this point.

Once I would have rolled my eyes at the tin-foil-hat whiff that statement carried but no more. no more.

3. All bad news is now barred from being reported
bush has had his photo-op and now the media is locked out. Very, very little is getting out now.

4. I have been thinking about this all day
All day I have been thinking about the fact that the people on the roofs and in the attics haven't been mentioned for days.

There has to be thousands of them left. I haven't heard anything about rescue efforts for days. They are just letting them die.

5. they'll be finding bodies in attics for months . . .
remember, the power was out when the levee broke, so people in New Orleans had no idea it had happened . . . no tv or radio to let them know . . . they found out when the water started entering their first floor and, as it rose, it drove them higher and higher into their homes . . . until, for many, they found themselves trapped in windowless attics with no ventilation . . .

some died when the flood waters totally engulfed their homes . . . others died when the scorching temperatures and lack of water literally cooked them . . .
