UPDATE: NO COMMUNICATION AND THIS IS WHY
http://www.waynemadsenreport.com/

UPDATE: We can now report that the jamming of New Orleans' communications is emanating from a pirate radio station in the Caribbean. The noise is continuous and it is jamming frequencies, including emergency high frequency (HF) radios, in the New Orleans area. The radio frequency jammers were heard last night, stopped for a while, and are active again today. The Pentagon must locate the positions of these transmitters and order the Air Force to bomb them immediately.

However, we now have a new unconfirmed report that the culprit may be the Pentagon itself. The emitter is an IF (Intermediate Frequency) jammer that is operating south southwest of New Orleans on board a U.S. Navy ship, according to an anonymous source. The jamming is cross-spectrum and interfering with superheterodyne receiver components, including the emergency radios being used in New Orleans relief efforts. The jamming frequencies are:

72.0MHZ

45.0MHZ

10.245MHZ

10.240 Mhz

11.340 Mhz

455 IF 233 MHZ

A former DoD source says the U.S. Army uses a portable jammer, known as WORLOCK, in Iraq and this jammer may be similar to the one that is jamming the emergency frequencies.

If a U.S. Navy ship is, in fact, jamming New Orleans communications, the crew must immediately shut down the jammer and take action against the Commanding Officer..

***

We have just learned from a journalist in Mobile that yesterday, Sprint blocked all cell phone calls from the Gulf Coast region to points north and west. Calls were permitted between Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida but no calls could be made to Washington, New York, or Los Angeles

It's just an attempt to keep misinformation from becoming accepted as fact.

When I read another post that has been taken down by DU and locked up by DU and I began to investigate and found this. Ok this may be bull shit info I do not know, but if the NG and the military are not in the city like I have been reading, where did they go and what the hell is going on. I am just trying to put dots together and I do not trust the Traitor Administration at all.

and you can't use them as sources. That cuts down on misinformation.
Alot of people use this strictly as their news source.
I don't remember the exact thing that unveiled him as bogus, but it was something to do with the elections.
By the way, welcome to DU!:hi:

49. Thanks Horse, and Thanks to all the posters here. You inlighten me
This certainly got some attention, I think alot of people right now do not know what the hell to think about all that is going on, I know I don't. We heard tonight that the Red Cross was not being allowed into NO. I checked that out on their website and it was true. I do not trust this administration at all but I never would have believe this would happen in a time of tradgedy in the US by the Gov to this extent, and in your face. This just blows my mind. So when I read this story I wanted to get more info from people I thought would get in here and give it and they did. Thank you all

Ive been listening to over a dozen frequencies outta NOLA for the last 2 days. There are no lack of frequencies in use right now.

Maybe those are secure frequencies, or there is something special about them.. I dunno..

But I dont know if I believe that.

23. the scanner feeds are not the full radio
communications that are supposed to be intact. They are having to use these feeds because their feeds are jamming.

HAM's have not been able to contact out or into this area. The pd feed has always been available online. Also, cnn reported yesterday that the comms were out because of solar flares and were making communication impossible.

Someone is jamming the frequency's I would bet on it.

35. these feeds run on a different MHz
so they are unaffected.

But in theory, it could be that they want these channels to be heard on purpose. as a sort of this is what's going on right now.

They are using secured channels, if the channel gets to much static they are programmed to switch to back up feeds which are usually unsecured. so, alot of times when you hear mp's for instance it's because the channel is overloaded. so you will hear bits and pieces.

Not all radios do this though. I don't know what they are using. You will notice alot of times you are just hearing a response from command posts.

I hope this helps. I'm no expert either but I am on my city's system for emergency hazmat relief so I have some idea how the channels work.

31. Higher Frequencies (above 40mhz) only Locally
These higher frequencies can only be jammed from the local area within 50 to 70 miles maximum. This is just like you can only receive FM radio from within this kind of distance (called line of sight).

Those frequencies below 40 mhz can possibly be transmitted from beyond the horizon via short wave "skip" effect. This is the way short wave or am radio can be heard from around the world if the conditions are right.

I am an amateur radio operator. This is a basic explanation of radio frequency range, I hope helps.

42. About bloody time someone posted that
I am an former Electronics Technician in the USN. You simply cannot jam those frequencies without being in line of sight range. Claiming it is being done from the Carribean is just nonsense.

You are correct about certain frequencies being able to skip off of the ionosphere (think of an AM radio at night, you can often get stations from 1000 miles away) though jamming in this fashion seems highly unlikely.

Madsden is a fruitbat.

50. These Specific frequencies a bit Nonsense to jam..
I did a little research of them, and they are not usually used by government agencies. The feds can and do use any frequency they feel like, but it is an odd list to jam. More likely a noisy computer device, or other generic radio noise generator.

Sorry, I don't see anything sinister in this list.

PS:Here is a fairly good Radio spectrum frequency assignment table:

...just open subspace frequencies and call in an orbital phaser barrage or photon torpedo strike from the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701, not the one that floats in the ocean)? Or are those "jammed" too?

43. Are they jammed, or are people not hearing anything?
When I was doing graduate work in engineering school we worked on radios that corrupted their transmission frequencies and could only be "listened" to by other units that corrected the transmission upon receipt. If the military is in town, it's not beyond imagination that they are using open air channels with secure units.

If you are listening in with a standard civilian radio, anything they are transmitting sounds like static. At the time I worked with them, they were a comforting presence because if you could actually make out a human voice, you at least knew the guy on the other end was probably friendly.

It wasn't new technology when I worked with it. If channels appear to be wiped out now, it could be because the transmission power of the military is overwhelming smaller radios being used by people in the area. Kind of like driving very close to a radio station while you are tuned to another channel - the closer you get, the more likely you are to hear just that station, no matter what your radio is set to.

My two cents.
