http://americablog.blogspot.com/ Reports that there was a celebration last night commemorating the 60th anniversary of the end of WWII

Here's an article on the subject:
http://www.netherlands-embassy.org/article.asp?articleref=AR00001733EN

Commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II, National World War II Memorial, National Mall, Washington DC,

A ceremony will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005 at the National World War II Memorial, on the National Mall in Washington D.C, An estimated 10,000, people including many Veterans from the United States and Allied Countries are expected to attend the event. The ceremony will start at 6 pm with pre-ceremony entertainment, the commemoration itself begins at 7 pm. The ceremony includes addresses by President Bush and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and WWII Veteran General John Vessey, and the laying of wreaths at the Atlantic Arch in honor of those who died during the war. The ceremony will conclude with fireworks and a live performance by the Liberty Belles, a USO 1940s-style show.

Can anyone confirm if he gave that address tonite or canceled? I certainly would like to know.

1. Would also like confirmation of a Greg Palast comment that
Bush played golf today. Someone said on another thread that SKYE news showed the clubs.

3. I saw that as well.
If it's true, I sure would think people would like to see video of that.

"Now watch this drive!"

2. King George was raised
by a woman that didn't bother to have a funeral for her dead daughter.

He was taught very early in life that death is something not to be felt.

He's evil and dangerous. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but this can't be said enough.

4. You're all too right, Holly
He's a sociopathic cocksucker who plainly doesn't deserve to live.

Sorry, that's my feeling. If he was drawn and quartered by an enraged mob tonight, I wouldn;t lose a wink of sleep over it.

Welcome to DU, btw.
