in?

Been kind of surprised that whatever excuses used for others haven't also been used to exclude media.

2. A lot of the media people
were there on Sunday to cover the hurricane. (Not the International bunch I saw on CNN today, though. Don't know what the story is with them.)

but If you look on the message displayed on the Red Cross website you can see the reason they are not being let in is because they dont want people to get too comfortable.

You cant make this shit up.

The link is posted in a few other posts on DU if you want to see it do a search for red cross and you will find it.

Oh I almost forgot what I was gonna say...they are apparently letting press in, but not letting anyone else in or out of the city including the Red Cross.

I cant believe it took this long for us to find this out. I heard it on the Mike Malloy show tonight.

5. On Kos I read they are not letting Red Cross, et al in
because they don't want to encourage people to stay there or others to come in. This is a policy of Micheal Chertoff

3. "Embedded" with the cops/military.

The two Fox crews in there (Heraldo and the other guy) are following/being protected by groups of cops. And they've dropped any loyalty to anything but reporting, for a change. (The other guy really let O'Reilly have it today saying something to the effect of "yeah that's all well and nice but the truth is that on day one the people I was with needed food and water, one day 2, they needed food and water, on day three, they needed food and water, and on day 4 they needed food and water."

As soon as the armed forces came in one CNN reporter started riding around with the General. The rest seem camped at the airport.
