It's not real if there are no pictures. Whatever they 'do' to these poor, desperate people will be a secret. "Reporters" can say whatever they want, but without pictures, it's just he said, she said, and the plan can continue sans obstacles.

5. News cycle and self-enforced "curfew"

This is the way the media usually works. Everything past midnight is usually rehashes and rebroadcasts of earlier material, with just a dash of new material. In addition, their security accompanyment isn't about to take them tooling around the downtown after dark for fear of their own lives.

I dread that tomorrow the first big story will be many, many burning buildings with the fire having spread overnight. I doubt the fire department wants to be out past dark either, and some of those fires look pretty inaccessible -- and copters can't really see well enough to make the call as to whether they cannot drop a water bag without killing a desperate family.
