I'm sick to death of the media turning this into a story about violence and looting.

I keep hearing them over and over say that people are sniping at the rescuers. Yet there is not one single report of any rescuer being actually shot.

Has it occured to them yet that people are firing guns to attract attention for rescue? The media should be ashamed of itself.

They are hellbent on dehumanizing these people. They insist on calling them Refugees. And pretty soon they will be housed in "refugee" camps built by Halliburton.

He went totally off script and spoke out against the racism and blasted * Even the news reporters on MSNBC by last night were letting Bush have it - even Joe Scarborough! I heard a piece on NPR yesterday about the racism - whites are scavanging for food, blacks are looters; whites are shooting to be seen or to protect themselves, blacks are snipers - it's fucking ridiculous! The white people of Alabama and Mississippi are getting help, the predominately black people of Lousiana are dying of starvation. My husband thinks it's because mississippi and bama have repuke governors and Lousiana has a dem - but I think it is more a matter of racism.

Time and agian we heard that hellicopters were getting shot at. How the hell do they know that? Has one chopper been hit? Where is the bullet hole?

I believe it to be a fabrication, a lie, that rescuers are being shot at.

Ya know, all these types of stories are meant to paint a bad picture of the victims of this hurricane. Why do people allow themselves to blame the victims for the terrible conditions in which the victims of this storm are forced to live?
