The money to rebuild NOLA will COME FROM PRIVATE DONATIONS AND CHARITIES?!
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 07:54 AM by in_cog_ni_to
How many of our tax dollars are being spent to rebuild Iraq? $200 BILLION? $300 BILLION?

On Washington Journal this morning an article stated that the estimate to rebuild NOLA is $100 BILLION. 1/4 of that will be paid by insurance companies and THE REST WILL COME FROM PRIVATE DONATIONS AND CHARITIES????!!!! What the HELL??? OUR tax dollars can be spent to rebuild a country that was ILLEGALLY attacked and destroyed by the idiot, but not to rebuild NOLA???

This is APPALLING! Our governement isn't planning on spending ANY $$$$$$ to rebuild NOLA?

THEN, a woman FREEPER just called into WJ and had the GALL to say that "poor people can take care of themselves"%$#@$%^^%$#@?

I'm sick. Where has my country gone?

The idiot has destroyed it.

Edited title....THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE TO ME! Needs to be read!:hi:

1. And you watch. This administration will still push for repeal of
estate tax and permanent implementation of tax breaks for wealthy. They are now working on the estate tax repeal as we speak.

3. Crazy
This is what government is supposed to do. That is why I for one don't get all upset about the big transportation bills with all of the special projects for roads and bridges, that is what the government is for. I don't want them worrying if my wife and I are having the right kind of sex, or whatever else the RW wants to prevent me from doing, so to brush it off on private industry is crazy.

10. That's where this is headed.
People have been pushed to the edge and it's not gonna take much more to push them over it...ESPECIALLY in NOLA.

7. What are the taxpayers of this area getting for their money?
The only person I saw point this out was on Lou Dobbs. I think her name is Christine Romans? A financial reporter. These taxpayers are getting zilch for their hard-earned money they gave to the government.

I pay my taxes too, and I want that money to go towards helping people when they need it - elderly, sick, vulnerable children etc. They are making our country weak and desperate.
