They moved guests of the Hyatt to the head of the line: Unbelievable
At midday, the evacuation was interrupted briefly when school buses rolled up so about 700 guests and employees from the Hyatt hotel could move to the head of the line to be evacuated — much to the amazement of those who had been crammed in the Superdome since Sunday.

“How does this work? They (are) clean, they are dry, they get out ahead of us?” exclaimed Howard Blue, 22, who tried to get in their line. The National Guard made him get back in with the unwashed masses as other guardsmen helped the well-dressed guests with their luggage.

Angry mayor

13. The only slight justification for it is...
that they have homes they can go to and emergency services need no longer be spent on them. But to board them ahead of people who have been suffering so much, and right in front of them, is cruel and stupid.

15. Cassandra, that was how I felt, if they had to do it, they should have
left straight from the hotel and not in front of the others who were tired, hungary, sick, my god the cruelty of it!

14. I heard last night that...........
it was the Mayor who gave that order. I'd love to find out the truth of that matter. I really, really hope that isn't true.

I don't remember which station I saw that on. I'm trying to watch as much TV as possible simply to know what the rest of America is watching, while I try to stay abreast of the truth here.

22. Me too, I want to see proof positive that it really was the Mayor
because, at the time of their evacuation, Homeland Security and, by extension, FEMA were in charge. It was Homeland Security that refused to let the Red Cross in so they certainly were making the big decisions.

general have allowed racism and other bad manners acceptable.

they have been without news and may not realize how much worse others have been suffering. They assume, but haven't seen what we've seen.

Edit: to add from the story:
"there were reports the hotel was cleared with priority to make room for police, firefighters and other officials."
Perhaps that was the deal they made to get the space for operations.

18. I sent this story to CNN and MSNBC last night and shortly afterward, it
was covered. We need to make a concerted effort to get the info posted here to CNN and MSNBC. they appear to have finally seen the light of the culture of corruption and blatant bias based on both socioeconomic and racial reasons that is purported by this administration.

This is the same shit we saw in Columbus Ohio and elsewhere on election day. The long lines, caging and challenges were directed at low income African Americans. That was my big wake-up call, let's hope this can be America's!

19. Well you see those darkies don't like the niceties of life.
Must be cause they are so much like animals. :sarcasm: mixed with :mad::mad:

Once when we were in Alice Springs, Australia I was noting with horror to our taxi driver how many, what appeared to be, homeless Aborigines I saw. They were standing around fires in groups out in the brush, or wandering aimlessly around town. They looked very disheveled, afraid, and very needy. Anyway, the fascist pig driver said that the natives LIKE to live outside. The bitch said the government has tried to give them houses and they continue to sleep and cook outside, and eventually go back to the brush. I loved seeing Australia but that place has a degree of racism I haven't even seen here. If you ever think about immigrating to Australia, take this into consideration. Australia tries to hide this ugly truth from the world, but believe me it screams at you loud and clear your're there.
