OK, PLEASE TELL ME IF I'VE GONE CRAZY.........
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 09:55 AM by growlypants
I simply cannot comprehend what is going on down in NOLA. Its either the MOST INEPT rescue attempt in the history of modern civilization, or there's something more sinnister going on here. Both answers are terrifying and have horrifying implications for the American people. If its simply complete incompetence, then we are DOOMED if there is another major terrorist attack in this country. What happened to the BILLIONS of dollars that were earmarked for "Homeland Security???" Was this money stolen and pocketed by these Bu$hCo. criminals like the missing $8 BILLION in Iraq (of which there has STILL been no investigation). If so, they should be charged with murder.
How is it possible that SIX DAYS after this disaster struck, are there STILL PEOPLE WITHOUT FOOD AND WATER???? BBC News last night reported that NOLA resembled a third world country. OUR OWN CITIZENS....living in squallor, feces, urine and death. Bodies STILL lying in the streets and floating in the water. At what point will these bloated corpses become poisonous, thus further polluting the water and the people who had the unfortunate luck to survive. NOLA looks like a concentraion camp, or a refugee camp in the West Bank. If EVERY NEWS OUTLET in the world can get in there with THEIR helicopters, then how HOW HOW HOW HOW is it possible that the government is not capable of airlifting these poor people some FOOD AND WATER??? This is beyond me. This is unfathomable. THIS COULD BE ME!!!! This could be YOU!!! These are our fellow AMERICANS!!! This isnt Haiti or Sierre Leone that we're watching disintegrate right before our very eyes, this is the SOUTHERN COAST OF THE UNITED STATES!!

We have OFFICIALLY lost ALL credibility in the world. It's horribly embarassing. And its criminal. Where are the swarms of helicopters?? The cant ALL be in Iraq. Where is the National Guard??? They cant ALL be in Iraq??? Why, if we are incapable of rescuing our own citizens from this nightmare of filth, starvation and death, have we not accepted the help offered by some THIRTY other countries???? Iran offered help, Canada, Russia, China, etc etc etc etc. Is it some sort of sick PRIDE that prevents Bu$hCo. from accepting this help WHICH HE MOST OBVIOUSLY NEEDS because he and his cronies are apprently UNABLE TO HANDLE THIS SITUATION. Or
IS it something more sinnister??

NO, I dont think that Bu$hCo. somehow managed to manipulate the weather and CAUSE this hurricane and resulting flood, but I DO believe that this inaction is a direct result of the victims financial and racial status. But there appears to be something ELSE going on here. TINFOIL HAT TIME!!!!! CAUTION: PUT ON YOUR TINFOIL HAT BEOFRE READING FURTHER......Ok, is it affixed properly atop your head??? Chin strap secure?? Good, lets go. I'm starting to think, and I have heard this from numerous other outlets that its almost as if FEMA is conducting some sort of a "social" experiment to see what happens when a disaster strikes and there is a complete breakdown of authority. What would be the reaction of the once "civilized" masses??? Would it degenerate into complete anarchy??? How would people react without food and water??? Would once "normal" Americans turn into killers due to lack of both authority and food?? Think about it (and re-adjust you tinfoil hat please, its tilting to the right). WE are the most developed country in the entire world and we are UNABLE (as in INCAPABLE, cant do it, too DIFFICULT) to airlift water and food to starving civilians?? We can put a bomb up the ass of a terrorist while he's sitting on the toilet from 4 million miles away, but we cant get water into NOLA??? We can put a fucking MAN ON THE MOON, but we can put water on the ground at the Superdome. We can take out FIVE of your major organs, replace them with SOMONE ELSES ORGANS, and send you home to live for another day, but we cant get some vehicles to the convesntion center to evacuate those miserable people who have been there for SIX DAYS??? WTF.

Last night I'm watching FAUX News and saw HERaldo Rivera and Shep Smith actually BREAKDOWN because they couldnt understand WHY these people were still there and had not received ONE IOTA OF ASSISTANCE. Then came the clincher.....They BOTH reported that the people at the Convention Center and the Superdome were NOT.....ALLOWED.....TO......LEAVE. They were being HELD THERE by the National Guard. The Guard had actualy set up CHECK POINTS around the area, and nobody was allowed out. And, apparently, nobody and nothing else (ie. food) was allowed IN. The government has established their own petire dish, and are running experiments on their own citizens. This is the perfect breeding ground for experiments on violence, starvation, human reaction and godknows what else. Lets hope the words BIOLOGICAL AGENTS or CHEMICAL AGENTS arent in their vocabulary.

Ya know what, hey, who really cares about THESE people, right?? I mean, they were pretty much worthless to society (drug addicts, the unbearably poor, drains on society). Right??? And it was their fault anyway for getting stranded there, they should have LEFT. You've heard this all before. And aside from the outcry by the media, which I'm sure will die off as soon as another white girl goes missing or a terrorist attack happens, these people are "disposable." Do you think the majority of Americans are TRULY concerned about these people?? NO. And I'm betting that MOST have only a clue that there was a huricane "or something." A friend called me last night (LAST NIGHT) and said "hey, did you know there was a big hurricane in new Orleans????" She knew NOTHING of the plight of the blacks. It was literally all I could do NOT to hang up on her. She then went on to tell me what she bought at the mall. :puke: Americans dont CARE unless it happens to someone who looks like them or it somehow AFFECTS them. Sure, they're all up in arms about the price of gas, because that affects THEIR wallets. But these people in NOLA??? The tennis courts at the Country Club by my house we FULL when I went to the store this morning. As was the golf course.

Why was the American Red Cross told by FEMA that they were NOT ALLOWED to bring in food and water. Dont believe me, check their website, call them. Why have offers of assistance from governmental agencies all over the country been TUNRED DOWN. People, fellow AMERICANS, show up in their boats to offer assistance and are turned away. We, yes, YOU AND I, are being used as guinea pigs, by our own government. And dont say they havent done this before, because they HAVE. Remember those blaks they infected with syphillis??? How about the ones they exposed to high levels of radiation to see what the resulting affects would be. They have done this before and I believe they are doing it again. And the reports of helicopters being shot at??? Well, that claim has been refutted. THEY DONT WANT ANYONE GOING IN THERE AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING, INCLUDING MAKING UP REPORTS OF VIOLENCE TO MAKE SURE NOBODY GOES IN THERE. PLease dont let these people be forgotten down there. Or one day they may come for YOUR neighborhood.

22. It is not surprising, sadly
They are on the "no bid, no compete" list--they were granted yet another five year dispensation from having to prove themselves like any other bidder both in terms of ability to carry out the task and provide the required support at a competitive cost.

They may as well be given a fucking office on the E Ring...and call them what they are: a division of the Department of Defense. The fucking thieves!

The planned response included leaving the poor to fend for themselves (see Times-Picayune story from 24 July 2005 a monthe before the Katrina).

I don't think it's tinfoil, but this needs to be reported as some kind of ethnic cleansing or crime against humanity to the UN.

We have a dear friend in New Orleans we haven't heard from since last Saturday night. I've called her house; no answer. Posted on every message board I thought they're might be someone who could help. I've told my mother, "Hope for the best, Mom, but expect the worst."

This, coupled with the fact that we've been watching the extensive news coverage of what's been happening down there.

Yeah, I'm definitely losing it.

24. "Americans don't care..."
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 11:26 AM by Union Thug
I think that some Americans do, indeed care; which is why you took the time to post this.

But in general, I agree. Americans have been engineered over the years to be the most selfish, judgemental, myopic population ever to be huddled together on a single continent. They care only about the quantity of shit that they can cram into a box and are willing to put up with the most egregious injustices to secure that shit. They are willing to accept abuses of power, so long as it comes wrapped in a pretty package. They love the profits and hate the humanity. They'll trample another human to get their hands on a mass produced, ugly doll. They are intolerant of other cultures, and are perfectly happy to deny others civil rights if it means that the perception that their shit in their boxes is safer. They've been taught to worship the wealthy and snicker at the plight of the producers, judging them by the cars they drive or the clothes they wear.

And now they collectively allow a murderous, half-witted, drooling asshole to get away with a blatant disregard for the plight of desperate, suffering human beings - men, women, children, babies --- and more so, to allow the prick to make a political photo op out of the situation. They fail to see the sickness in the fact that the lil' emperor was out on the putt putt course while people were staring down the barrel of one of the most devasting storms EVER to hit the United States of America...

Shame. I am ashamed to be an american right now

25. think globally, act locally.
We have seen that we can no longer rely on the Federal Government to protect us.

Wherever you live, take a look and consider what natural disasters might hit your community. Then make sure you have a survival strategy.
Make sure your loved ones have a strategy. Even better, makes sure your community is ready for bad things. They will happen.

The danger faced by New Orleans was no secret and it wasn't new.
It was a city built below sea level on the edge of the globes most prolific hurricane basins. Disaster was predictable. For decades. For centuries.

The Feds under BushII and the Feds under Clinton and the Feds under BushI did nothing about it.

The lesson is clear. We can no longer rely on the Federal government to protect our homes and families. We must do it ourselves.

35. The Feds under Clinton WERE doing something about it
"Holdeman praised James Lee Witt, director of FEMA under Clinton, for gshowing a serious regard for the cost of natural disasters in both economic impact and lives lost or disrupted.h In the f90s, Witt had developed a plan for just such a New Orleans disaster that would have pre-deployed hospital ships and ships with pumps to remove water from the city."

30. LIHOP = Let It Happen on Purpose
MIHOP = MAKE it Happen On Pupose

These in connection with 9-11, but if indeed your hypothesis regarding the "social experiment" being run down in NO is correct, that would probably fall somewhere between the two.

Are the Busheviks capable of this? Of course they are. They are monsters, murderers and thieves. It is quite clear they regard us Filthy Little Nobodies as expendable and perhaps even as subhuman.

Does that mean they did just that? No. But of course without a Free Press or a functioning System of Checks and Balances, we can never know.

Thus we are left with speculation and Samizdat, like the Russians of 1977 or the Germans of 1937.

Maybe so and maybe no. Are the Busheviks capable of will full murder? Yep. Capable of murder by neglect? Even more so.

But we will never know.

33. If you've gone crazy, so have I...
I've read reports of NG sitting playing cards while the police were doing rescues...

I've read reports of private citizens and other states sending help, only to be told 'go away'...

I've watched with my own eyes local tv reporters from wwl say the NG told them 'reporters weren't allowed into NO'...the reporters snuck in anyway

I've been trying to understand why and how... and the only logical outcomes are sinister, evil ones...

But I have hope, because of people like the reporters who sneak into their hometown. I have hope because of citizens who take their own boats down and sneak around to get them in so they can go around flooded neighborhoods to save people...

36. Magnificent "crazy" rant... I'm crazy too.
LOL..I love the line: We can put a bomb up the ass of a terrorist while he's sitting on the toilet from 4 million miles away,

But seriously, I don't know if they are experimenting with people but what I have learned is that BUSH wanted FULL control of EVERYTHING before he would release the waiting NG and other rescue efforts.

Allegedly, there was a nasty back and forth between the Governor, Blanco, and Bush over this. She didn't want Cowboy, all-hat-and- no-cattle Bush kicking her to the curb and coming in there to TAKE OVER, without any input from the local authorities. We all know how HORRIBLE BUSHIT's idea of "helping" people really is ie: Baghdad. I heard/read that Blanco is trying to set up an independent aid source for those stranded in her state...

The TRUTH will start coming out before long. Bush wasn't/isn't especially "close" to Louisiana..too many liberals, too many po'folk. What I can glean is that some help started arriving in Gov. Haly Barbours (R) Mississippi before most places in Katrina-ravaged Louisiana...

Gotta just hate that sheep fucker bush AND his momma, ya know?

<sorry for the language, but...I'm "crazy" with rage> ;)
