Would it make a difference if fundamentalists sat outside the Superdome
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 10:17 AM by wildflower
and Convention Center with tape over their mouths? As they did in front of Terri's hospice? Can we get some of them over there?

Are the culture of life members speaking out on this at all? Maybe I've missed it.

I'm sorry, I am heartsick and tearing my hair out here trying to figure out what to do to get the people out.

ON EDIT: I just saw a post that said the http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x4605019 ">Convention Center has been evacuated because of Geraldo? But I know there are still thousands in the Superdome. The buses stopped coming.

1. They wouldn't have.
If they were fundies, Bush would have allocated funds through HUD and they would be moving into their new homes right about now.

4. It is hard for me to believe that pro-life people aren't speaking out
more forcefully on this. (If they are, I have missed it and apologize to them.)

2. I don't know
But I think it would be nice if they would just generally sit around with tape over their mouths. No special occasion needed.

6. But...isn't this the same situation to them? Starvation and dehydration?
Being allowed to happen? To many more people?

I feel like I must be missing something.

7. Flame me if you must, but may I remind you
that many of these now homeless people ARE fundamentalist Christians?
And they already have that virtual "tape over their mouths" because they are poor black people.

However, I believe that these people are true Christians. I have heard many stories about people who, disregarding their own personal safety, have done their own rescues when they realised that help was *not* on the way.

On a bright spot, though, I do not think that they will vote for anything nearing the current administration the next time around though.

I was fuming mad at CNN cutting off Jesse Jackson last night.
I was fuming mad about an hour ago to hear Soledad saying how happy this poor woman was to have an MRE and a "big old bottle of water"
(uh... about a liter, the FIRST litler in 6 days)
I am fuming here.

Last night I read about Camp Casey II setting up its own camp again just outside of NOLA in Covington, LA, just north of NO.
I suggest sending them some supplies, but have no idea how anyone from NO can get there when they are being forbidden to walk out of the city.

8. No flames from me
I'm talking about the ones around the country who held vigils, tried to break into the hospice to bring Terri water, etc.

And the emergency legislation in D.C., the attempt by governor Bush to bring in the police...

where is it all now?
