Al Franken in Kansas City.

Just got home from seeing Al Franken here in Kansas City. About 2,000 people showed up for the event -- the cost of admission was buying a copy of his book. He spoke for 30-40 minutes, then answered questions for another 20 minutes or so.

Those of us who are liberal are constantly told we're in the minority, and we're completely wrong in our views. And yet, in Kansas City people were turned away from seeing Al Franken. What is wrong with this picture?

As we were driving to the event, another driver noticed the "Bush Lied, People Died" bumper sticker, beeped and gave us a big thumbs up. So I held up the Franken book and got another big smile and thumbs up.

Maybe a critical mass actually has been reached, and we really outnumber the Bushies.

1. I'm seeing it here in Tennessee as well.

The Rush drug scandal is really disappointing a lot of the sensible, good Republicans. They're cutting him loose, and they're doubting Bush. Our country is not completely screwed up.

Remember, you can't fool ALL of the people ALL of the time. They are waking up. :)

is below the Mason-Dixie line, so it's in the south, just as good.

2. We always have outnumbered them.

We just don't always vote. This is why Republicans aren't for making voting easy, simple and fair. They know if it becomes too popular or too easy, they will lose.

This time, let's all see to it that they lose.

4. People need to get off their lazy asses and learn citizenship again.

And WE have to help them, if it means going and getting them and driving them to the polls. Sometimes you have to save people from themselves. The informed must show leadership, and beat back the forces of Republican EVIL.

5. Even in Texas

I've had some recent experiences where people are becoming more prone to idendtifying themselves as liberals. I still meet people with their head up their ass, but I've been surprised here and there. The Bush administration and the Texas legislature has been something many don't want to be identified with.
