3. IIRC
There's a huge retirement population there....of course that was a lot of years ago. Do you know if it still is.?

If it is, it's going to be a tough fight....lot of retired northerners

5. In terms of a more serious, but poorly informed reply. . .
The large northern area is, if I recall correctly, is fairly lower middle class area (Clearwater, I think), which could work to our advantage.

But, all of the coastal area is is tourist properties with some VERY expensive homes (although I can't imagine that many people actually live there permanently, since they'd make more money renting out there homes and living elsewhere). Those that do live in the coastal area permanently are serioulsy LOADED (the type of people that own nice sailboats, yachts, private boat docks, direct beach access, etc.)

So it basically hangs on the balance of the two.

7. Florida is probably the most gerrymandered state in the country
check out their congressional districts:

9. thats my 'hood
state house representation means very little in FL.

the state is in total thrall to developers and the sugar industry, and the antics of lobbyist and pols on both side of the aisle in Tally are legendary.
