Is the RW still holding on to their Chimp worship?
I had a very interesting conversation with a coworker yesterday.

He is a Public Health Service Commissioned Corps officer. The corps was put on notice on Thursday that all leave was suspended, and many of them will be deployed to the Gulf region.

When Bush was reelected he mocked me. Words were exchanged. But we still remained friendly and talked politics routinely.

Yesterday we were discussing the bill that our governor was to sign at midnight, temporarily suspending a .15 cents gas tax.

He shocked me when he said that he thought it was a bad idea, and that the tax should be more.

His reasoning was that the more gas costs, the more people will conserve.

He then went on a tirade about SUVs, and how they were polluting the air.

I laughed and asked did his kids give him a good talking to. He replied that no, but his main concern was seeing his children grow up.

I almost fainted -- this guy was a complete Bush bot. He was like Al Franken's ditto head friend -- always defending the indefensible.

Those days are in the past. He really lit into Bush good. He can't believe the situation in New Orleans.

I'm still reeling.

1. I'm still hearing a lot of RW talking points
They can't let go of their hero-worship. Instead, it's the victims' fault.

8. These people are mentally ill
They truly are.

My RW coworker left for Greece on Friday. I hope she gets an earful from Greek people and travelers from other countries while she's there. I hope they give her funny looks, lecture her or just shake their heads in disgust. She loves Greece. It would be just desserts for her to find herself personal non grata there for being an American.

3. alas, people of my acquaintence are still devoted little sheeples-
it seems that their golden boy can do absolutely NOTHING wrong, and everything that happened is somebody else's fault (mostly gov blanco and all those selfish poor people who wouldn't get off their butts and work so they would have money and cars.) Right now, there are several people I will never speak to again.

7. A lot of Bush worshippers I think had the scales fall from their
eyes this week. Unfortunately, waiting to elect him out of office is too long. We have to light fires under our elected representatives to start impeachment proceedings now.

9. In my area the Bushbots are still in the dark.
The important things to them about New Orleans are:

1. Those people didn't get out, so it's their own fault. (Yeah, people without a cent to spend "chose" to stay!)

2. The people in New Orleans are looters and they are to blame for the lack of relief. The officials were afraid to go in. (Yeah, after three days of doing nothing, people looted to get necessities).

3. The people who have been helped are a bunch of ungrateful malcontents. (People who haven't had a decent nights sleep in a week, have been through hell, and have be totally failed by their government are complaining about it! What nerve).

10. Well, *My* Pet Wingnut Has an IV Flowing with KoolAid
In the past few days he had been repeating that MOST people STILL don't think Shrub lied about the Iraq attack, and I finally found an article that had the percentage of people who DO, which was 52% in June.

*********QUOTE********

Thanks. I’ll read it but if $52% believe the moon is cheesecake, does that make it true. In some ways it doesn’t surprise me. His reaction has been clumsy, the war has been rough with some saying it is not going to be won, and many of our finest minds, the elite of our intellectual class, frothing in hatred and sure, just sure, that that little twerp who cleaned their clock in TWO elections lied. He had to. It’s the only explanation, craven lying. Lying is to know one thing and say the other. It is not to get it wrong. I thought the Republicans hated Clinton, but they don’t have anything on the Dems and the Left and Bush.

13. Well, He's My Target
I send him a stream of stuff about Shrub, either to convince him or to puncture his worship of Shrub, but he's got his blinders screwed on TIGHTly.

12. I Answered Him, Saying
1- The hatred of Shrub EXCEEDS the wingnut hatred for CLINTON? I don't THINK so.

2- The wingnuts kept an infernal machine of allegations and "investigations" going for more than just his 8 yrs in office.

3- They culminated in a FAKE impeachment.

4- Meanwhile, Lordling Shrub does not allow even honest criticism or questions.

5- The craven media has given him a free ride from even before his selection.

6- Oh, and since when are two STOLEN "elections" with a margin of an eyelash come to mean "cleaning somebody's clock"? Not to mention his "govnerning" by poking everybody's eyes with a stick as though he had an actual mandate?

14. I'm more concerned with that 5-10% in the middle.
And from what I've seen & heard, they've shifted HARD away from the Chimp in the past month. Mostly over gas prices & Iraq, sure.. but this cinches it.
