The pain in DU
is astronomical. I am so touched by those who have expressed their outrage and pain for their fellow americans in NO. America lives, people! DU is proof of that!

2. I would be in the corner drooling and screaming right now,
if it wasn't for DU... to be among others who feel this pain and express this pain, who feel this anger and put words where I seemingly can't find them anymore is a blessing and a joy.

Thank you DU

10. Welcome to DU, blossomstar, and I know exactly how you feel.
Before I found DU, I really thought there was something wrong with me because most of friends just didn't seem to care about what was/is going on. To find people informed AND caring has kept me from banging my head against the wall almost every day.

5. Same here --- my sanity is DU
and I learn so much that I am grateful for.

love to all, and together we'll make this country a good decent place to live in for EVERYBODY (except racist jerks and fat-cats)

6. I love DU!
Even in a blue state I don't feel like many share the same passion and venom for what Bush has done to this country. I feel like most in Maryland disagree with Bush, but are apathetic and too wrapped up in their own lives to care very much.

DU has provided a place for me to go where the people are just as passionate as I am, and maybe some have views I don't agree with but as a whole these are people after my own heart.

Thank you DU and all who had a hand in creating it and keeping it going. I will forever be in your debt. :loveya:

8. Yes, DU truly helps
It's an outlet for my rage and despair. Just this morning I saw a picture in the NY Times of old people, lying helpless on the baggage carousel at the NO airport. One elderly woman looked startlingly like my mother, in her final days right before her death last April. I thought to myself "What if this were my mother?" and in an airport instead of being cared for in Hospice. She would be helpless and would perhaps die without my being able to be there for her. I just thank everything that is holy that she did not experience that.

But, oh my god, think of that poor lady's family. Words cannot express...

15. I think thats very true and i'm glad you posted it
i think for me and probably many others here that it's still difficult believing this is actually happening and the federal gov. doesn't care, people are suffering and dying as i write this and i feel like this isn't America anymore, i feel like it is the United States of Bush.
