OMG. A group in Florida wanted to volunteer to bring in 500 air boats
to help in the rescue efforts.

FEMA "emphatically" refused. They said they had to CONTRACT OUT for that and couldn't use volunteers.

Republican Rep. Mark Foley just said that on MSNBC.

I always thought Homeland Security sounded like a good idea. And it probably could be if the people there actually knew how to do their jobs!!!

After what we've seen in NO lately, we know it's every man/woman for themselves!! No one is coming to help us in the event of an emergency.

A reporter asked him what would happen if--given the slow response time to Katrina--if we were hit by terrorists again.

This bastard goes into this: "Well this was really unprecedented--it was two major events at one time--1st the hurricane, 2nd the flooding."

My brain almost exploded and I just screamed: WELL WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN IF TERRORISTS ATTACK ON TWO DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE COUNTRY!!!??? DO WE JUST CHOSE UP SIDES AND SEE WHO GETS THE AID FIRST!!!????

What use to us is Homeland Security then???
