Anybody hear the guy on NPR today who had an evacuation plan

all worked out for his family? He decided to evacuate before they were told to. Guess why. He looked at the total weather picture across the nation, saw a high coming from the west that would meet up with Katrina and hold certain other condiditons in place and he said he knew it was the "big one." He also said the picutre was out there for anyone to see (i take it he meant the professional weather and government people). It was an amazing interview. Seems to me that this guy should be used and put in charge of disaster prediction at least. He had already mapped out where his family would go and meet if separated, what they would take, ...everything. While it is too late for the poor folks affected by Katrina, if there is any consulting for the government that should take place, he would be one i would hire to train all the "experts."
