She (Rita Cosby) just reported that she is at the airport in Baton Rouge, and that AG Gonzales has arrived along with scores of FBI sharpshooters. When asked why was Gonzales there and the sharpshooters, was there something that they can do in the recovery. She said that there is all kinds of lawlessness going on in NO and the recovery can't continue until the area is secure. WTF????

did MSNBC hire her away from FOX? She sound like she is on life support as she is talking. I expect to see her take a last big breath and die on the spot. She may do excellent reporting, and in fact there have been a couple of interviews I would have liked to watch recently, but she just does not have a good television voice at all...I too cannot listen to her, it just makes me feel way too uncomfortable.

Oh to answer my own question, MSNBC hired her away from FOX hoping she would bring over her conservative fan base.

53. I saw CNN video of cops hunkering down on a roof at night with

gunfire going off around them. They were tired, thirsty, hungry and scared. I heard a nurse who was trying to get the Charity hospital evacuated say someone was shooting at them from a garage. I heard another nurse say her colleague had stepped outside the hospital at one point to get some much needed fresh air and she was held up at gunpoint. I heard people being interviewed at the Superdome saying how girls and children were being raped. I saw a man being brought to the triage area who had been beaten at the Superdome. He was unconscious.

Criminals are victimizing the victims of this disaster. Criminals are keeping the victims from being rescued. WHY, WHY, WHY would a helicopter fly in there, try to rescue people then PRETEND somebody was shooting at them? That makes absolutely NO sense. NONE. And if you care about the people in New Orleans and you want them to be safe and you want them to be rescued then you should want the criminals to be taken care of.

To leave people behind because of a sniper is not acceptable, either. NOT ACCEPTABLE. But, to pretend there are no bad people victimizing the good people in New Orleans is Pollyannaism at its worst.
