2. Oh god you should have seen it

Big burly men breaking down because they were trying so hard to save people. "I just wanted to help. To get the people out" was what you heard over and over.

3. WDSU or WWL showed video of cops ripping into the ones that left

Saying, "Remember that oath you took when you got your badge?" Or something like that.

4. Yeah that was quite something. Half of them were women too.

5. I saw that

There were 4 or 5 that stayed in one location, protecting a group of people (at a school? if I remember correctly) until someone came to evacuate them. They were the last to leave. One of the older guys broke down in the helicopter. Two of them were hugging and crying. They did their jobs, well beyond the call of duty.

I've been in law enforcement in one capacity or another since I was 18 years old. I can't imagine the ones who walked away, but then I haven't been in their shoes. They must've been beyond hope.

The one cop was thoroughly disgusted that he had to drag men back when they were evacuating women and children first. He called them cowards.
