Al Gore's Current has a report on boats on rescue missions from 8/30

It's fantastic. Has a guy basically with his camera and his boat, and he drives down to NO to try and find survivors. He did actually manage to save a few people.

He says at the end that the boats were told to stop after apparently one of the boats was attacked, and they weren't allowed to return.

I urge everyone to check out Current. I think it's important to have this kind of first person reporting, now more than ever.

2. Gore has his weak moments, but this network is a great idea.

I liked it in the abstract, and it's everything I thought it might be. Much more interesting than the other formats, and fairly democratic.
