Department of Homeland Security/Responsibility
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 05:25 PM by cal04
Emergencies and Disasters

Preparing America

In the event of a terrorist attack, natural disaster or other large-scale emergency, the Department of Homeland Security will assume primary responsibility on March 1st for ensuring that emergency response professionals are prepared for any situation. This will entail providing a coordinated, comprehensive federal response to any large-scale crisis and mounting a swift and effective recovery effort. The new Department will also prioritize the important issue of citizen preparedness. Educating America's families on how best to prepare their homes for a disaster and tips for citizens on how to respond in a crisis will be given special attention at DHS.

3. This letter proves that FEMA Deputy Director Michael Brown...
...lied to the press, the country and in his interview with ABC's Ted Kopple, when he stated on Thursday Sept 1, 2005 that he had no knowledge of the extent of damage and emergency needs for New Orleans until the Tuesday following the hurricane landfall three days before.

Clearly on the 28th (Sunday) when the letter had been drafted and distributed to George Bush and therefore had been in extensive composition prior to that date, the Deputy Director of FEMA Region VI, located in Texas, was the channel through which this letter was to reach the president.

To claim to have not known until Tuesday, three days latter and for the president to have not seen, read or been de-briefed as a minimum before that time, has to constitute the grossest form of negligence by the Office of the President of the United States of America.

Immediately upon opening of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives this Tuesday, an investigation MUST BEGIN on all Federal parties fore the president right through to all Federal Departments that are responsible for disaster relief and aid.
