6. Miss It?
Do you know what it means
To miss New Orleans
And miss it each night and day?

I know I'm not wrong
The feeling's gettin' stronger
The longer I stay away

(Oh, well. The US will now become just one big Ohio.)

12. KFOG in San Francisco had all Cajun music
on 10 at 10 on Friday last week. That was me. Just a few notes of Dr. John, and I was losing it.

Here's the one that kept going through my head last week. Poco's "Heart of the Night"

In the heart of the night
In the cool southern rain
There's a full moon in sight
Shinin' down on the Pontchartrain
And the river she rises
Just like she used to do
She's so full of surprises
She reminds me of you

refrain:

In the heart of the night
In the heart of the night
In the heart of the night
Oh, down in New Orleans

There's a nightbird singing
Right on through till the dawn
And the streets are still ringing
With people carrying on
It's been so long waiting
Just to be here again
Anticipating
All the time I could spend

refrain

And I trust in your love
Never fallin' down
And I trust in your love
Just like I do in this town
Oh, never fallin' down
Oh, never fallin' down

In the heart of the night
In the cool fallin' rain
There's a full moon in sight
Shinin' down on the Pontchartrain
And the river she rises
Just like she used to do
She's so full of surprises (oh mama)
She reminds me of you (right here)

refrain

And I'm so glad to be back in New Orleans
Please don't wake me, don't shake me
If it's only, if it's only just a dream
Cause it's the only place that I can face
It makes me feel so right
Below that Dixie moon and lovin' you
In the heart of the night

17. Now I'm crying
This is horrible. And I'm hard-hearted. I wasn't this angry at 9/11 and I knew it was MIHOP situation.

Now I know why people become drug addicts.

22. Sorry!
It's just such a pretty song...kind of melancholy but hopeful at the same time.

Don't resort to drugs! We can get through this! Pour yourself a little glass of wine and you'll feel a little better.

All in moderation.

19. "The US will now become just one big Ohio."
And just what was THAT supposed to mean?

I am from Ohio, I live in Ohio, and I know a lot of decent people in Ohio. No, we're not the Cradle of Jazz...but so what?

Maybe if the US *did* become "just one big Ohio," we'd all be a lot better off. Maybe the "President of the United States of Ohio" would've gotten up off his keister faster and DONE SOMETHING about all this misery before it was too little too late, instead of eating cake and noodling around with a gee-tar while people died.

And don't even give me that "YOU elected him" crap. First of all, I didn't vote for him, and second, we will probably never know how many other Ohioans didn't...or might not have, had they not just given up voting, period.
