When the Saints Go Marching In
Louis Armstrong's lyrics - my own Jazz funeral for all those who will never have one:

We are traveling in the footsteps
Of those who’ve gone before
But we’ll all be reunited (but if we stand reunited)
On a new and sunlit shore (then a new world is in store)

Oh when the saints go marching in
When the saints go marching in
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

And when the sun refuse (begins) to shine
And when the sun refuse (begins) to shine
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

When the moon turns red with blood
When the moon turns red with blood
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

On that hallelujah day
On that hallelujah day
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

Oh when the trumpet sounds the call
Oh when the trumpet sounds the call
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

Some say this world of trouble
Is the only one we need
But I’m waiting for that morning
When the new world is revealed

When the revelation (revolution) comes
When the revelation (revolution) comes
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

When the rich go out and work
When the rich go out and work
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

When the air is pure and clean
When the air is pure and clean
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

When we all have food to eat
When we all have food to eat
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

When our leaders learn to cry
When our leaders learn to cry
Oh lord I want to be in that number
When the saints go marching in

1. It's like...
...the "Itsy-bitsy Spider" song that we teach kids, yet the whole song itself is actually quite disturbing.

2. It's appropriate, too
A little bit of the Apocalypse came to the Gulf Coast.

There was wailing and gnashing of teeth, and there was also much truth revealed.

We now only await the casting of the Devil into the Lake of Fire. (In this case, the casting of Bush into prison.)

3. Yep....
I love these lyrics.

And there are thousands of people who deserved to have this played at their funerals who will now be buried in mass graves, if buried at all.

4. I've been wondering what they will do with the bodies.....
once they can recover them. The thought of mass graves certainly came to mind. Sigh.

5. sadly
it seems the only way to handle it.

By the time they recover many of the bodies, they will be unidentifiable. And I believe the final toll will be at least 20,000. For sanitary reasons, the bodies will have to be handled quickly. Individual funerals are very unlikely.

I hope, though, that there's one big-ass national jazz funeral.
