Update: One more on FEMA's ineptitude: When they finally sent supplies, they sent those intended for a chemical attack:

" After the authorities in Baton Rouge had prepared a field hospital for victims of the storm, Fema sent its first batch of supplies, all of which were designed for use against chemical attack, including drugs such as Cipro, which is designed for use against anthrax. "We called them up and asked them: 'Why did you send that, and they said that's what it says in the book'," said a Baton Rouge official. "

Paragraph from Chertoff's press conference:

And let me tell you, we totally understand what it's like to be sitting on top of a roof or to be sitting in a shelter where it's hot, where you're worried about when you're going to be picked up, where you're thirsty, where you're hungry, where you're afraid for yourself or you're afraid for members of your family. There is no way a catastrophe can be minimized. I mean, this is a personal tragedy for everybody that's involved, those on the scene and the family members who are elsewhere as well.

Oh, and guessing why Brown got Deputy FEMA job? He was Albaugh's roomate in college. Well, I feel better now, don't you?

1. Joe Albaugh and Brown were college roommates?
I am drowning in cynicism and disgust.

3. Here is more info
Before joining the Bush administration in 2001, Brown spent 11 years as the commissioner of judges and stewards for the International Arabian Horse Association, a breeders' and horse-show organization based in Colorado.

``We do disciplinary actions, certification of (show trial) judges. We hold classes to train people to become judges and stewards. And we keep records,'' explained a spokeswoman for the IAHA commissioner's office. ``This was his full-time job . . . for 11 years,'' she added.

Brown was forced out of the position after a spate of lawsuits over alleged supervision failures.

``He was asked to resign,'' Bill Pennington, president of the IAHA at the time, confirmed last night.

Soon after, Brown was invited to join the administration by his old Oklahoma college roommate Joseph Allbaugh, the previous head of FEMA until he quit in 2003 to work for the president's re-election campaign.

4. Notice how everything has to presented to them very carefully?.

I realize that the group who sent the Cipro may not be right wing operatives, but I thought of the right wing operatives when I read this gem about mailing chemical attack supplies.

Rice said - if we had known that aircraft were going to be flown into buildings we would have done something

Bush said - if we had known that the levees were going to break we would have done something.

Homeland guy/gal says - if we had known it was a water disaster we would have sent water disaster supplies instead of chemical attack supplies.

Run Dick Run.

This is the way we cross the street, cross the street.

Hey, do you all want some visuals with that?

5. Here is another example of how NOT
to run a country.

We have so many examples of people in this administration who are there as a 'thank you' rather than because they know what they are doing. I would love to compile that list and send it far and wide.
Let's start...

Bolton and Roberts- 2000 campaign

Give me names and I'll get the info.

7. These jerks give the "good old boys" a very bad name.
Their old boys network is ruining our country.
