It is taking more than 70 different organizations on the ground in N.O.
to BEGIN to get a handle on things, just heard Rita whaz-her-name say. How in hell was the NOPD and the decimated LA Guard supposed to do that?

What state is capable of handling such a catastrophe on it's own? That's why we pay federal taxes and finance the huge military: so they can protect Americans against such problems.

Here we have a case of failure of the federals to quickly come to the aid of citizens who were overwhelmed. Yeah, the aid is flowing now, but what took it so long?

Congress members should look us dead in the eye and say: "We, serving you in the capacity as your Federal Government, failed to respond as soon as we should have. We'll not let it happen again. We screwed up."
