Another World's Fair in New Orleans as soon as it is feasible
you do know we had one in '84, right?

There is precedent here. The Panama-Pacific Exposition of 1915 was designed to announce to the world that San Francisco was back after the earthquake and fire of 1906. (although I'm far too impatient to wait nine frickin' years!)

This'll be the biggest, baddest fair ever. It'll be like having Jazz Fest all summer long! Somehow I doubt that locating a large vacant site for a fairgrounds will be much of a problem...

Of course, we'll have to come up with a mascot to rival the one from '84: a pelican named Seymour D. Fair! ("see more 'da fair" :-) ) I might suggest three young pelicans, Seymour's offspring, representing the three baby pelicans in Louisiana's flag and seal:

I hereby name them Union, Justice and Confidence (the three words on the flag's legend), and if you gainsay me, or worse still, pass off the idea as your own, well, I'll.. I'll...

2. I was at the 84 World's Fair
The theme of the fair was water. I've thought about that trip a lot this past week. If there is another world's fair in N.O. I will go to that. We were thinking about going to New Orleans in October of this year but obviously that won't happen.

3. That's a good idea
The only time I was ever in New Orleans was when the Worlds Fair was there. I was only 13 at the time and it was great. Sadly, I remember little else about NO. We were there for a horse show and spent all our non horse time at the fair.
