Can Governor Blanco request that FEMA leave La?
Now that she's smartly hired James Lee Witt, a man who ACTUALLY knows what the heck he's doing in matters like this. Can Governor Blanco ask Michael Dolt Brown to leave the state?

After all, last time I checked the Governor of Louisiana was still in charge of her own state and not the Feds...it's called States Rights you GOP pigs.

Also, why is Rumsfeld going to NOLA? I'm VERY worried about this, why the Pentagon whore is going to a place thats in a humanitarian crisis.

:scared:

4. I'm WORRIED
If Governor Blanco can't ask FEMA to leave and Rummy's arriving...I'm scared about whats going to happen.

I know this might seem an INCREDIBLE thought, but I'm worried in case these CRIMINAL bastards try and seize control of the entire state of Louisiana.

5. NO WAY
Even if FEMA management sucks, they need their resources and manpower. The state alone cannot handle this.

7. Rummie needs to stop running this like a military operation
and hand the recovery efforts back over to civilian control. Natural disasters are not military operations.

10. And so far this military operation hasn't even gone as well
as his FUBAR in Iraq.

8. Probably.
But FEMA's the go-to agency for Federal interagency coordination and for coordination between the state/local governments and the federal government.

They have their guy for liaison with LA; LA's had their own. They should have been talking to each other a lot. I get the feeling that they're still looking for each other's phone number. Witt's replacing the former Louisiana liaison.

Blanco's been in charge of her state straight along: she never gave up control. It was the state and city evacuation plan they followed. They should be following the state plan for dealing with this disaster. Her office is making the requests and calling most of the shots; those her office isn't calling, Nagin's office is.

I get the feeling that FEMA's dropped the ball: where the hitch was, I can't tell. It'll be an interesting postmortem, if we can keep partisanship out of it.

And, when this is over, FEMA's going to sit down with Louisiana and New Orleans governments and have them revise their disaster plans.

12. Okay, I can understand all of that
But how can Governor Blanco make sure that these Bush jackals DON'T take advantage of this situation and that FEMA keep their word and do the right thing by the people.

I mean, we're not exactly talking about honest, good people here, as we ALL know, they're vultures and vampires.

11. Because they are framing it as a combat zone. You are
right GOP pigs. When this is over, the victims will end up being the criminals and the criminals the heroes. I really hate these Nazis in situ.
