They couldn't even muster a Moment of Silence |
|
for the victims?
I might be wrong but my impression is that all over the country we had the opening of College Football and Nazcar even ran a race today. Did any of these events that were televised on National Television even bother to stop for a moment of silence for the victims of Katrina?
The response of the majority of Americans to this disaster is truly sickening and I am ashamed of my own country.

The World Cup Qualifier match began with a moment of silence. In addition, the Mexican and American players were going to autograph their jersies and sell them in order to raise funds for the victims. The also mentioned that the MLS (Major League Soccer) teams that played today were going to be autographing theirs as well.
There's something to be said about a game that's "world-wide" vs one that's "country-wide".

6. All I heard was mention of Katrina in a prayer on the Nascar race |
|
Hubby's watching it in the living room and he said all he heard was what was said in the prayer.

I'm glad I am wrong.
It still seems obscene to be burning all that fuel right now. Yes I know they don't use the same stuff we do but it's the impression that it gives to see those hi performance cars that burn through tons of fuel just for entertainment.

8. Cuba had a national moment of silence, led by Fidel Castro |
|
For the USA victims of Katrina. Cuba itself was unscathed due to proper preparations.
