Could a Schwarzenegger victory be a blessing in disguise?

While I'm starting to be pessimistic about the recall itself, I'm also starting to believe that Governor Arnold will be an exploding cigar for the Republicans. There will be nonstop negative publicity about him from day one, and he will become a huge embarrassment to the Greedy Oil Plutocrats. This could be a factor in turning the tide next year. How could he possibly be good for his party at the rate things are going?

I've been saying that from the beginning. He will get a brief, very brief, honeymoon. After that he will receive nothing but bad publicity.

2. No. It doesn't work like that. The "publicity" does what the rulers want

it to do. Reality plays a very limited role. The publicity will sound like this, REGARDLESS of the health of the state's finances:

"Sacramento, Jan 22. Governor Schwarzenegger moved confidently and aggressively today towards balancing the state budget, by trimming fat from spending for Workman's Compensation programs that were plagued by mismanagement and fraud under the Davis administration..."

Bush's reign has been 'an exploding cigar' of lies and corrupt dealings since day 1.

Yet here we are nearly 3 years later and he is still taking the country down the tubes despite all that "bad publicity".

that a plurality of California voter's don't inflict that (can I still say) jackass on the Californians who aren't idiots. But if they do, I think it will be a good thing for us in the long run. Because he can't possibly know what he's doing, and it will show quick.

get split, putting Arnold in the governor's seat
will not be a good thing...
Running a state as large and with the 5th largest
economy in the world isn't an acting act.

7. Three main goals.

Arnold can always escape back to his millions and his fan base. His main goals are:

1. Control the voting booths in 2004. Purge all possible dems.

2. Open oil leases offshore.

3. Squeeze public school's funding in support of vouchers.

If he does these things, he will be a hero to the right.

His financial advisor let the cat out of the bag ,Warren Buffet, when he said taxes will be raised.Raising taxes will wake up the masses. With the whackjobs in DC now ,the burden on states will only continue. When fires destroy many homes because of a lack of firefighters ,when more schools close (who can afford vouchers?) . They will never vote for a repuke again.

10. NOTHING good could come of him winning. The damage they could

do to people's lives is huge. They will cause such misery, that nothing could replace the time, resources, lives wasted.

Arnold's candidacy is about putting burdens on working and middle class so that big businesses -- especially California's big media conglomerates -- don't have to pay fair state income and property taxes.

It's also part of a shift towards fascism -- not just undoing the New Deal, but getting back on the fascist track the US was on until FDR became president.

There's a lot a stake, so let's not be stupid about this.
