22. I agree wholeheartedly! I saw it and tears filled my eyes.
Prior to that scene, he really told Russert how it actually is in NO and said the leaders should be chopped off because they weren't doing their jobs.

Even when he switched to Haley Barbour he appeared sad. Don't know if he had just heard that poor man or not. I can't believe we have had such a lack of leadership. Oh, where is Bill Clinton?

64. Oh, where is Bill Clinton?
He would have been there at the Superdome (and welcomed), actually giving comfort to the people. He wouldn't have done a Photo Op at the airport. Food and water would have been there Tuesday instead of Friday. President Gore has already flown two plane loads out already. That's more than * would ever be capable of.

67. He would of had the people out of the Superdome days and days
earlier. It would have be so entirely different. So many people who have died would still be alive - that is true if the President was Gore or Kerry also. This would never have happened like this. Never!

But even if there were some there, they would have had food & water. And he would have gone there & been welcomed instead of doing a Photo Op at the airport & leaving.

11. I am, and I am crying. The repug governor is now making excuses
but he will never overcome the guy who was on just before him. I don't know his name but he completely broke down.

The person in charge of emergency services in his parish received a call on Monday from his mother in a nursing home ask if there is help coming. "Yes, Mom, help is coming." She called Tuesday. "Yes, Mom, help is coming." She called Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. "Yes, Mom, help is coming." She drowned Friday night.

Stick a fork in the repugs, they are done.

12. President of Louisiana Parish tore Russert's ass
He talked about the bureaucratic failure, how FEMA stopped deliver of emergency supplies, that the government is broken and that the person at the top needs to be held accountable, that there needs to be a major investigation...etc. He talked about lives being lost because of not just a natural disaster but a bureaucratic failure.

Russert hurriedly jumped in when he talked about removing the person at the top of the totem pole and asked if the governor and mayor had no responsibility for the disaster. fucking whore.

Then the guy told a story about a man who's mother was in a nursing home. She had a phone, was trapped by flood waters. She called her son daily and he told her help was coming. Tuesday, Wed., Thursday, Friday...she was told help was coming. She died Friday night. The guy lost it.

I don't mean to doubt. But if they did cut the lines, that indicates another LIHOP/MIHOP. In other words our own government are the terrorists.

81. On CNN, they just interviewed the Mayor of Hattiesburg, MS. They
mentioned FEMA to him to which he responded "who? who is that?".

He said there are trucks with water or ice that FEMA won't give to them because someone up the chain of command at FEMA hasn't signed off on it.

He said they were supposed to be provided x amount of water, x amount of ice, and on and on per day but haven't been and what is there, FEMA won't give it to them. It sounds like the gas that FEMA blocked the Coast Guard from giving to Aaron Broussard's people and FEMA cut their emergency phone lines. They turned water away.

This is so unbelievable. They have the stuff on the ground and they wont give it to people. They wouldn't let the Red Cross in to feed people. They wouldn't let people out.

Do they get paid more based on the body count?

Is FEMA's contracts with Bush's buddies exclusive so donated water from Walmart must be refused?

:wow:

in my lifetime - at least not in this country.

911 was human driven (if you think the terrorists were human), but this time the people were betrayed by their own government.

The magnitude of this is simply overwhelming.

This is exactly what everyone in this country needs to see: the personal testimonies of REAL people and not the utter BULSHIT of Chertoff saying, "we need to look forward"

Of course that's what you'll say, looking back means investigating your criminal culpability in the murder of thousands of American citizens!
