IN Austin, the main volunteer corps is the Red Cross.... they are doing great things... If you want to make sure the $$$ goes to evacuees, donate to the local Red Cross and volunteer (if you are in a community which is housing people. I'd say that if you aren't in southern states, MAYBE you could direct funds to states like Texas' Red Cross? I know they are getting a LOT done.

Just don't give to Operation Blessing Pat Robertson with $$ he is bound to abscound with (I don't knwo this for sure, but you can't help but wonder)
