200 New Orleans Police Quit, 2 Commit Suicide...
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 4 - Reeling from the chaos of this overwhelmed city, at least 200 New Orleans police officers have walked away from their jobs and two have committed suicide, police officials said on Saturday.

Some officers told their superiors they were leaving, police officials said. Others worked for a while and then stopped showing up. Still others, for reasons not always clear, never made it in after the storm.

This thing keeps getting worse. If I didn't know better, I'd
say bushco engineered the hurricane. Certainly fits in nicely
with their f**ked up agenda, no?

:grr:  :grr:

6. excellent point....... all disasters need to
account for that. In our company's disaster drills that was made a concern.

What if our workers are fine, you company is fine...BUT you workers family and friends might not be. They need to leave to go look after them, comfort, morn, etc

7. Yes
Cops don't walk off the job. This is a situation none of us can really get a handle on.

4. I saw Mayor Nagin interviewed this morning; getting help for officers
was very high on his list. They are traumatized.
