General Honree on FAUX just now defended the local N.O. / LA officials
calling them "victims" of this disaster.

He stated that they had no means of communications and that the entire first responder infrastructure was sent back 100 years in time due to this fact.

Now, what happens if a local Government is disabled by another disaster or a "terrorist" attack?

There is no way they can pin this on the Governor/Mayor of LA because "they were victims too."

Bottom line Bush's Federal Government was woefully prepared for ANY disaster - even after 911.

1. did you see him at the end telling the soldier on the truck
Edited on Sun Sep-04-05 01:46 PM by notadmblnd
to put his gun down. The soldier had it up over the cab of the truck pointing it straight out. Honere said something to him and he put it down.

5. I did. Good for him. I don't care what his political leanings are he's
been amazing. If he's a Dem, I'd like to see him run for something.

16. He said, "Put your gun down -- we're here to help people!"
The soldier instantly responded, and looked a little chagrined. His initial lack of understanding is understandable. The active duty military isn't trained in disaster relief; the National Guard is.

I thought the General's actions were quite different from FEMA, which couldn't turn help away fast enough.

2. He's the real deal.
Too bad he isn't in charge of FEMA, instead of a flunky bureaucrat asst. city manager. The Bushbot apologists are spinning this mightily to protect their Disaster pResident, but the people that know aren't playing along.

6. General Honore is a stooge. A traitor, spinning for traitors.

The staged baby hand off was the kicker.

He's a blustering fool who's main job is to facilitate the emergence of a military police state.

Don't fall for the crap.

They're all in on this psy-op, selling it hard.

No one in the mainstream media is pointing out the obvious:

The ongoing crisis is being manufactured by Homeland security.

12. I missed the press conference, but I did here him defend local officials
which leaves the federal government responsible. Sounds like he's non-partisan ~ for the moment.

18. I think you might be right
the more I see and hear.. the more I realize they want a war down there with the people. I'm glad the good people for No didn't fall into these SOBs trap. They'll have to stage incidents and I think it's already begun .. look at the story of the shooting on the bridge.. It keeps changing and they can't decide who shot who yet or why. All I know is that Blackwater isn't down ther to hand off sandbags.

3. There's a lesson for all of us
not directly affected by this:

Do not bet on the republican run government to pull you out of the grease in a terror strike, nuclear accident or whatever.

"AMFYOYO"

How much has been spent on "Homeland Security"? And for 4 years now.

And when I say "not directly" I mean impact delayed.

4. Nagin said he could get things done.
Looks like he is trying. They should make him coordinator of the command and control.

15. Actually, Nagin said he GOT things done,
The victims cheered and applauded him ordering his charges (and the police) to drop the aggressive posture, and assume a rescue posture.

17. General Onry can gitter done!
That is the American Military I remember that made America great. That man is not working for Democrat or Republican. He's working for American! God Bless him! He's just telling it like it is in the name of progress. I greatly trust this Honorable man to be the Omsbudsman for the victims. Congress should give that John Wayne dude autonomy. He should have the Freedom to tell (R) and (D) alike, Shut Up! I don't work for either one of you. I work for (A). I'm the peoples General with the liberty to help them the best way I can.

Everytime I see or here of General Honree there is another old and familiar feeling that well's up inside me. I'm Proud to be an American......

:patriot:
